What you'll do
Solution-to-Value Alignment: Translate customer R&D needs and pain points into actionable technical solutions that align with the customers’ business objectives.
- Relay technical requirements to internal teams who can execute solutions.
- Partner with R&D and non-R&D customer teams to implement and scale tailored solutions, connecting their value to cross-project goals and operational excellence.
Liaise and Partner with the Delivery and Customer Enablement team to better communicate with R&D stakeholders and leadership, building relationships that support project expansion and satisfaction, specific to the context of chemicals R&D.
Business Case Analysis & Value Capture: Collaborate with both sales and technical teams to craft business cases that demonstrate productivity improvements, time savings, and concrete benefits such as substandard product loss reduction and enhanced service levels.
- These business cases will serve to increase adoption and scale of our platform at target companies to drive recurring revenue of subscription software services.
- Business case creation can be hypothetical (pre-implementation) or concrete (post-implementation).
Sales Support: Develop presentation materials that emphasize the value of our solutions to customer business needs, and manage key partnership discussions to help shape effective, scalable engagements with public communication of successes. Partner with Sales Enablement to provide input on customer engagement strategies to support successful, long-term solution implementation and value alignment.
Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers, acting as a trusted advisor to understand their research needs and objectives (scientists and leaders). The ability to foster connections will be essential for maintaining ongoing client engagement and satisfaction.
Thought Leadership: Leverage knowledge of Chemistry and Materials research methodologies and challenges to establish credibility and trust that align with client goals and enhance their research capabilities.
Collaboration: The ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, customer success, and solution engineering. Open communication, mutual respect, and teamwork are essential for achieving client satisfaction and a positive culture.
Client Advocacy: Serve as the voice of the client within Albert Invent, providing feedback and insights to help shape product offerings and service delivery.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Masters degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or a related scientific/engineering discipline; MBA is a plus.
- Eight or more years of commercial experience preferably within the Chemical/Materials research sectors, with a proven track record of managing complex business problems.
- Ability to lead and manage complex programs, ensuring timely delivery of objectives while coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
- Front-end innovation and R&D management experience, with strong familiarity in moving from concept to market-ready product.
- Deep working knowledge of Chemistry and Materials Science, and familiarity with the broader chemicals industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in product leadership (supply management, sustainability adjustments, component simplification).
- Demonstrated experience scaling projects both regionally and globally, and the ability to drive adoption across different business units.
- Strong foundation in IP Management, as it relates to digital data in R&D.
- Change management expertise.
- Adept at building trust with internationally-coordinated research groups.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish trust and rapport with clients and stakeholders at all levels. Experience in nurturing long-term (multi-year) partnerships is essential.
- Demonstrated experience of internal collaboration (firm-side) to drive outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective engagement with clients, technical teams, and executives.
- Ability to travel greater than 50% (North America and Europe)
