Artera is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Lab Operations Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be crucial in supporting our commitment to high-quality diagnostic practices aimed at personalizing medical decisions for cancer patients. Your responsibilities will include handling and processing specimens, managing the lab’s CLIA and state lab certifications, maintaining compliance with our Quality Management System, and assisting in the order processing workflow. This role is ideal for someone passionate about advancing their career in a laboratory environment while contributing to meaningful medical outcomes.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Handle and process biopsy specimens according to approved procedures.
  • Ensure proficiency testing samples are processed in the same manner as patient specimens.
  • Maintain and oversee the laboratory's Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Manage analytical validation and research projects within the lab.
  • Document all quality control activities, instrument verifications, calibrations, and maintenance.
  • Maintain the lab’s Complex CLIA, CAP, NYS license and ensure compliance with all QA (Quality Assurance) and QC (Quality Control) protocols.
  • Manage, track and update standard operating procedures, necessary files, and safety protocols within MediaLab QMS.
  • Assist in applications for state-level licensure and manage inspection preparations.
  • Assist with processing orders, including entering and verifying patient information, and tracking progress of orders from order placed to test report delivered.
  • Troubleshoot order processing issues, manage documentation such as physician requisitions and insurance details, and ensure timely completion of orders.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Associate degree relevant to Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution.
  • At least 2 years of experience as testing personnel in a laboratory performing high-complexity tests.
  • Experience in pathology, biochemistry, molecular biology, proteins, or immunology techniques preferred.
  • Startup experience is considered an advantage.
  • Meticulous, detail-oriented, with strong interpersonal skills, and highly motivated.
  • Proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail, with a strong aptitude for seeing the big picture and prioritizing tasks effectively
