The Role
We are seeking an IT Network Designer to join our Information Technology team.
The IT Network Designer will play a key role designing, implementing, and maintaining our clients’ network infrastructures. This position focuses on optimizing performance, ensuring reliability, and supporting the growth of our product and client success. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience and is eager to continue growing their expertise in network technologies and security.
Who you are
- Completed bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 4-6+ years of hands-on experience in planning, designing, and implementing network infrastructures (e.g., Cisco IOS, SD-WAN, Meraki, wireless RF)
- CCNA (or equivalent) certification preferred; Meraki, CCNP, or Azure Network Engineer Associate are pluses
- Solid understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLAN)
- Familiarity with Wi-Fi standards (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax) and Zigbee/Digi XBee
- Knowledge of Azure network services beneficial
- Experience with RF propagation models, predictive analysis, and simulation tools is nice to have
- Familiarity with network automation (e.g., Python) is a plus
- Security Awareness: Understanding of network security principles and best practices
- Excellent interpersonal skills; comfortable working cross-functionally to solve problems
- Demonstrated interest in staying current on emerging technologies and best practices
- Ability to travel occasionally, both domestically and internationally
What we need
- Design, deploy, and maintain network while working in Cisco LAN/WAN, data center, IoT edge networks, and Azure cloud environments
- Identify and resolve network outages in coordination with internal IT staff, vendors, and field services
- Support the configuration and maintenance of firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems
- Design and manage wireless networks (e.g., Wi-Fi, Digi), including site surveys and spectrum analysis to optimize coverage and performance
- Proactively track network performance, identify potential issues, and propose solutions to enhance reliability
- Perform network capacity planning and traffic analysis to maintain scalability
- Create and maintain documentation for network designs, configurations, and procedures
- Stay current on network infrastructure hardware and software solutions; recommend and evaluate new tools and technologies
- Ensure end users benefit from a reliable, secure, and high-performing network, supporting efficient access to the systems and services they need
- Coordinate to ensure adherence to security protocols and support in addressing security-related incidents
- Liaise for hardware and software procurement, support, and warranty claims to ensure uninterrupted service and equipment availability
