Posted on Friday, May 6, 2022

Bond's mission is to accelerate the pace of financial innovation and access to capital for individuals who have traditionally been underserved.

Today, it's difficult for many businesses to build the financial products they want. Whether that's launching a new credit or debit card, a savings account, loans, there are barriers in the way. Bond is focused on helping companies hurdle over those roadblocks by making it easy for them to compliantly offer financial products and better engage with their customers according to their needs.

Bond is searching for a pragmatic, collaborative, and whip-smart Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Officer to be an integral part of defining Bond’s legal and regulatory position.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Serving as subject matter expert on all BSA/AML/OFAC and ID theft issues
  • Managing anti-money laundering compliance by proactively identifying and addressing the BSA/AML/OFAC and fraud risks associated with the financial services Bond offers and for educating the broader team on how such risks evolve at different levels of platform scale
  • Developing, administering and maintaining our AML and OFAC compliance program so it is compliant with all laws, rules, orders and decrees applicable to our partner banks, including anti-money laundering, economic embargo and sanctions requirements, and their own related policies
  • Designing, implementing, maintaining and administering Bond’s Identity Theft Prevention Program and related written policies and procedures to identify, detect and respond to patterns, practices or specific activities that indicate or could indicate identity theft, fraud or suspicious activity, in compliance with applicable laws, the policies of our partner banks and best practices
  • Developing a system of internal controls to ensure ongoing compliance, defining key risks and performance indicators, and conducting internal testing of the BSA/AML/OFAC and ID Theft programs
  • Hiring and coordinating audits of the programs by independent auditors at least annually and, when exceptions are noted, address and implement corrective action plans
  • Coordinating relevant reviews and approvals of Bond’s policies, programs, incidents or corrective action plans in these areas with our partner banks
  • Providing ongoing user-friendly training on these topics to the team and our business customers
  • Conducting and preparing BSA/AML/OFAC and other targeted assessments for our business customers
  • Managing and developing your team members’ skills and technical expertise to meet oncoming risks and business changes

You have:

  • 7+ years of BSA/AML and sanctions experience
  • Extensive knowledge of BSA/AML laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC/sanctions requirements; CAMS or other AML certification preferred
  • Familiarity with transaction monitoring and suspicious activity case management systems
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field
