Responsibilities
About the Team: The Ethics Office was established with the goal of instituting and maintaining high ethical standards and a culture of integrity. The team achieves this goal through 4 main pillars - 1) developing an overarching ethical governance program, 2) implementing and maintaining ethics policies and processes, 3) providing education and awareness to employees via communications and training, and 4) ensuring a highly ethical culture by encouraging employees to speak-up and to ensure potential misconduct is properly investigated. Position Summary: We are looking for an individual with a Legal, Ethics, or Compliance background to support our employees in the APAC region, which includes South East Asia, Australia, India, Japan, Korea. The new hire will support Ethics Office initiatives, including project management, assessing policy and procedure needs, developing and implementing policies and procedures and conducting compliance investigations & disciplinary reviews. Key Responsibilities: Project Leadership - Lead and manage ethics-related projects, collaborating with key stakeholders across the organization. - Develop and implement compliance programs and policies to ensure alignment with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. Policy and Procedure Development - Collaborate with Employment Legal, HR, Employee Relations, and business teams to draft, review and enhance policies and procedures. - Proactively identify and mitigate employment-related risks using both quantitative and qualitative data. Investigations and Discipline - Lead investigations into potential violations of company policies, ethical standards, and applicable laws and regulations. - Advise on legal and compliance risks arising from investigations and recommend appropriate courses of action to mitigate these risks. - Provide legal advice and guidance on compliance matters to internal stakeholders, including senior management. Employee Support - Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies and procedures with clear and concise guidance. - Build strong relationships with key business teams to provide ongoing ethics and compliance assistance.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: - Qualified lawyer with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience, ideally from law firms, in-house legal teams, or government agencies (i.e. AGC, CPIB). - Proven expertise in anti-bribery and anti-corruption (ABAC), HR issues such as bullying, harassment, and discrimination, or related compliance investigations. - Demonstrated ability to conduct internal investigations, whistleblower cases, fraud, and misconduct, handling sensitive matters with discretion and confidentiality. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly and concisely. - Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and international teams. - Proactive and adaptable, with a hands-on approach suited to a dynamic and evolving environment. - Able to communicate the purpose and value of ethics and compliance policies to employees at all levels, fostering understanding, engagement, and accountability across the organization. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in legal roles within global or regional organisations, preferably in the technology sector. - Familiarity with cross-border compliance and regulatory requirements. - Knowledge of data privacy laws and regulations (e.g., PDPA in Singapore) is a plus. - Proven track record of managing complex internal investigations or whistleblower cases is highly preferred. - Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply regulatory guidelines. #LI-Hybrid
