Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Compliance Strategy and Technology Lead to oversee our Financial Crimes Compliance (FCC) technology and strategy team globally. This role will lead the strategy design and technology implementation of AML/CTF and Sanctions screening programs across multiple countries and business verticals—including e-commerce and live-streaming—while ensuring alignment with both regulatory expectations and global compliance standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in relevant industry, with a strong domain expertise in large scale internet business and direct exposure to fast-evolving digital business models. Key Responsibilities - Lead and drive the architecture design, construction and continuous optimization of our global payment compliance systems, with a focus on scalability, quality, and operational efficiency. Ability to collaborate closely with product, operations, and data teams to implement robust, automated compliance controls. - Establish and lead a high-performing team within the global AML/CTF and Sanctions technology function, driving the development of scalable solutions to ensure compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF), and sanctions regulations—supporting billions of users across global markets. - Partner with business lines across live streaming, e-commerce business and other verticals to deeply understand their business models and risk exposure. Design quantitative strategy and machine learning models to identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks in real time. - Lead the development and execution of a global AML/CTF and Sanctions strategy program, encompassing KYC/KYB, Transaction Monitoring, and Name Screening. Ensure frameworks are effective, efficient, and adaptable to regulatory changes and business growth. - Stay at the forefront of compliance technology advancements and regulatory trends within the payments industry. Drive innovation by identifying opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, and lead engineering teams to rapidly prototype, test, and iterate scalable compliance solutions.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. - More than 5 years in the internet and/or payments industry focusing on compliance technology. Prior hands-on software engineering experience or in a similar technical role is a strong advantage. - Proven track record in both technology and strategic leadership, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing a team of more than 20 direct reports, including people managers, across multiple countries. - Strong working knowledge of APAC AML/CTF and Sanctions regimes, with practical experience implementing compliance systems in the APAC - Excellent system design skills with hands-on experience building large-scale applications and a proven track record of architectural systems that support hundreds of millions of users. - Proficient in programming languages such as Golang, C++, Java, or similar, with a solid understanding of programming principles and applications. - Proven experiences working with big data and machine learning technologies, including tools such as Hive Preferred Qualifications - Prior experience in e-commerce, gaming, live-streaming, or social media platforms is highly desirable. - Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with a strong ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
