About the role:

As our Higher Education Campus Activation Manager, you will be the architect and driver of post–sale activation and expansion across Canva’s priority university accounts in the U.S., U.K., and broader EMEA regions. You will report into the B2B Verticals Growth Strategy team while maintaining a dotted line into Regional Community functions and collaborating closely with the Higher Ed Sales Lead and their AEs.

What you’d be doing in this role

  • Lead On-the-Ground Campus Activation - You’ll own the strategy and execution for embedding Canva into daily campus life—from defining the scale and structure of student ambassador networks to shaping the rhythm and format of faculty workshops and pop-up “Canva Clinics.” For example, you might pilot a semester-long ambassador cohort in coordination with student unions, design 60-minute hands-on sessions for key departments, partner with our agency on marquee on-campus activations, and work with our CSM partners to manage logistics and post-event follow-up—all while ensuring Canva is seen as the go-to design tool and building genuine affinity within student communities

  • Drive Cross-Department Expansion - You’ll partner with Higher Ed Sales AEs and Product Marketing to identify untapped academic units and craft bespoke “Canva in the Classroom” pilots—whether that’s a short design-led project series for Business faculty or a communications toolkit co-created with Comms schools. You’ll set the scope, success criteria, and cadence of these pilots, then lead quarterly leadership briefings using usage insights to secure additional seats and budget approvals—while amplifying Canva’s brand presence across campus

  • Build Scalable, Data-Driven Playbooks - You’ll help define key metrics (MAU lift, seat growth, workshop engagement), collaborate with data teams to track these in dashboards, and iterate on tactics based on performance insights—from workshop content to ambassador incentives. Each learning cycle feeds into a single, living playbook that documents end-to-end processes, templates, and best practices—enabling rapid roll-out across new campuses with minimal hand-holding from our CSM partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Own End-to-End Campus Activation. Translate our activation tactics into reality by designing and running student ambassador cohorts, faculty workshops, pop-up “Canva Clinics,” and agency-partnered events—partnering with CSMs on logistics and follow-up.

  • Lead Cross-Department Pilots. Collaborate with Higher Ed Sales AEs and Product Marketing to scope, launch, and iterate “Canva in the Classroom” pilots in target departments—briefing stakeholders, defining success metrics, and presenting outcomes to secure additional seats.

  • Capture and Share Insights. Surface qualitative feedback and key usage signals (seat uptick, workshop attendance, adoption anecdotes), partner with Growth Marketing and Marketing Data to review high-level usage trends, and feed learnings into an evolving set of activation guidelines.

  • Manage Budget & Vendors. Oversee an annual activation budget, own agency and vendor relationships, and ensure every dollar drives impact and builds campus affinity.

  • Partner Cross-functionally on Key Initiatives. Work closely with Growth Strategy and Sales on activation cadence, with Product Marketing on campaign assets, and with Data & Marketing Ops on simple performance tracking—ensuring each program has the support and insights it needs.

  • Build Lasting Brand Love. Champion ongoing community engagement initiatives—design challenges, ambassador spotlights, social takeovers—that deepen Canva’s presence and position it as the go-to tool on every campus.


You're probably a match if:

  • Experience in community, campus, or field marketing (ideally EdTech or B2B SaaS in Higher Ed), with a track record of driving user growth through grassroots programs.

  • Hands-on program builder: You’ve launched ambassador networks, workshops, or similar initiatives, and know how to balance strategic vision with day-to-day execution.

  • Strong collaborator: You thrive influencing across Sales, Product, Content, Data, and Ops teams—building alignment and momentum without formal authority.

  • Data-informed: You’re comfortable tracking simple performance metrics and using insights to refine tactics

  • Excellent communicator: You can craft clear briefs, share compelling stories from campus, and present impact to senior stakeholders.

  • Passion for Higher Ed: You understand campus culture, academic calendars, and what makes students and faculty tick.


About the Team:

The B2B Growth Marketing team is building Canva’s presence in the workplace - designing full-funnel strategies that drive acquisition and expansion across priority audiences. We operate across a wide range of channels and are guided by data, experimentation, and impact.

Within the team, the Verticals squad focuses on unlocking growth in high-potential industries. In 2024, we saw just how powerful this model can be, with Higher Education becoming Canva’s largest source of offline ARR.

As part of the Higher Education vertical, you will collaborate closely with Sales, Product, Customer Success, and Community leads to drive every stage of the customer journey—from grassroots student engagement and faculty enablement to cross-department expansion and renewals. Together, we will design and operationalize campus-centric activation programs (student ambassadors, workshops, targeted campaigns) and craft the data dashboards and growth frameworks that ensure Canva is not just adopted, but indispensable in university settings across the U.S., U.K., and EMEA.

We make hiring decisions based on your skills, experience, and our overall assessment of what we observed and learned in the hiring process. The salary range for this position is $159,000 to $205,000. When calculating offers, we make salary decisions based on market data and candidates' skills and experience.
