Social Media Manager, Affinity
Canva
Job Description
Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.
Hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte!
Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.
Where and how you can work
Alongside our global campuses, we also collaborate with talented contractors and freelancers from all over the world to help us achieve our crazy big goals. While we support flexible, remote-friendly ways of working, for this role we’re focusing on London so we can best support our teams and keep collaboration flowing.
This role is a 6-month engagement, working full-time hours.
About the Role/Specialty
We’re launching new social channels in the UK, and we’re looking for a creative and strategic storyteller to help shape how Affinity shows up from day one. In this role, you’ll build our social presence for Affinity from the ground up; creating culturally relevant, native content that connects, entertains, and inspires.
This is a hybrid role for someone who blends content craft with platform expertise, and who’s just as confident ideating as they are publishing, engaging, and iterating. You don’t wait to brief... you’re the type to shoot, write, edit, and post if it means getting something great out the door fast.
You’ll bring a sharp understanding of pro-designer culture, trends, and creators, and know how to translate that into platform-native content that builds community and brand love.
What you’ll do (responsibilities)
Own and operate Affinity’s social media presence end-to-end; from strategy and ideation, to creation, publishing, engagement, and reporting
Collaborate with local agencies, freelancers, creators and influencers to bring fresh, relevant ideas to life
Be a culture-vulture: spotting trends and jumping on moments that matter in real-time
Engage with your audience to spark conversation, build community, and fuel connection
Work closely with local cross-functional teams to align on strategy and market goals
Track performance, gather insights, and iterate quickly to scale what lands across paid and improve what doesn’t
Be a brand guardian — upholding Affinity’s tone of voice and values across all channels
What we're looking for
Extensive experience in social media, with a focus on content creation and community engagement ideal
A creator mindset: you’re comfortable shooting, editing, writing, designing, and posting your own content
A deep knowledge and understanding of the pro-designer landscape and mentality: you should know your raster from your vector, your boolean operators and what LUT packs are
Deep platform knowledge, especially of TikTok and Instagram, with an instinct for what works where and why
A strong eye for design and storytelling, with hands-on experience using Affinity and Canva to bring ideas to life
A sharp sense of what’s trending (and what’s tired) in your local culture and social landscape
Experience collaborating with agencies, freelancers, creators, communities and cross-functional marketing teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills, and confidence using English for day-to-day collaboration with team
Analytical thinking, with the ability to draw insights from content performance and optimise accordingly
Proficiency with tools like Canva (of course), Sprout Social, Looker, Google Suite, and other social publishing/reporting tools
Highly organised, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
