What you’d be doing in this role
As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.
At the moment, this role is focused on:
- Leading English SEO strategy and execution — owning the roadmap, prioritisation, and delivery of SEO initiatives across major product surfaces and user segments.
- Coaching and growing a team of SEO Managers — developing, mentoring, and empowering high-performing individuals toward ownership, clarity, and long-term impact.
- Collaborating with the i18n SEO Lead — partnering closely to align strategies, share insights, and maintain consistency in SEO execution across global markets.
- Driving organic growth coverage — expanding Canva’s visibility across different user journeys and markets, from education and SMEs to professional, enterprise, and personal use cases.
- Collaborating across groups and specialties — working with leaders in Product, Content, Design, Engineering, and Ops to influence roadmaps and embed SEO into key initiatives.
- Scaling systems and workflows — streamlining SEO operations, leveraging automation and AI where impactful, and improving velocity and quality of content and technical execution.
- Measuring and optimising for impact — defining success metrics, analysing performance data, and communicating progress toward growth goals across leadership stakeholders.
- Championing best practices and innovation — staying ahead of industry trends, evolving strategies, and fostering a culture of experimentation, learning, and collaboration.
You're probably a match if
- You have 8–10+ years of in-house or agency SEO management experience, with a proven record of growing SEO impact across large-scale or multi-product environments.
- You provide strategic SEO leadership, defining and executing SEO strategies across multiple verticals and surfaces while balancing long-term bets with near-term growth.
- You are a hands-on, thoughtful coach, developing and motivating SEO professionals to deliver their best work.
- You collaborate cross-functionally, aligning SEO initiatives with broader business, product, and user goals in partnership with technical and creative teams.
- You are analytical and process-minded, using data to inform prioritisation, streamline workflows, and drive continuous improvement.
- You are curious about automation and AI, eager to leverage emerging technologies to enhance efficiency and scale impact.
- You take executional ownership, moving initiatives from concept to delivery with accountability and clarity.
- You bring strong product sensibility, ensuring SEO strategies enhance user experience and content quality.
- You have a global mindset, collaborating effectively with international teams to ensure strategies are consistent yet locally relevant.
- You are versatile and adaptable, operating confidently across strategy, analytics, and execution in dynamic, evolving environments.
About the team
The mission of the Logged Out Experience (LOX) Group at Canva is to empower every user to experience Canva’s most important bets - at the right time, in the right way - across every logged-out surface.Every day, millions discover Canva for the first time - through one of our 70,000+ pages in 20+ languages. Over the next 2 years, we want to 10x our Total Sessions and optimise towards organic MAU growth.
You’ll be leading Canva’s English SEO strategy, guiding a team of SEO Managers and Specialists to drive organic growth across our Visual Suite - including Docs, Presentations, Video, Websites, Whiteboards, and more. You’ll shape how users discover Canva for diverse use cases, from everyday personal projects to enterprise-scale workflows.
As part of the SEO leadership team, you’ll collaborate closely with Product, Growth, Content, Engineering, and Design leads to connect SEO strategy to Canva’s biggest growth bets. You’ll also partner with the i18n SEO Lead to ensure consistency, shared learning, and alignment across international markets.
Reporting to the Head of SEO, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving long-term organic growth, coaching the team toward scalable impact, and ensuring SEO remains a key growth lever across Canva.
