Job Description

The Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for optimizing the use of company assets in the acquisition of goods and services. Develop knowledge about supply of materials, formulating short- and long-term strategies to ensure quality and continuity of supply while minimizing cost.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyzes internal usage patterns and external market trends for assigned items.

  • Calculates stocking requirements to keep inventory at acceptable levels.

  • Primary liaison between Caris Life Sciences and the supplier for communication of product requirements, timelines, sample requirements, inventory builds, and ongoing material requirements.

  • Purchase corporate requirements for assigned materials from approved and qualified suppliers in sufficient lead-time to prevent material shortages.

  • Meet with suppliers’ sales representative in order to evaluate their services and products to seek out cost reductions, quality improvements, or new products.

  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with established Purchasing and Accounting policies, and standards of ethical conduct.

  • Communicates updates to both internal and external customers.

  • Secures settlements with suppliers on any issues that have caused company losses (poor quality, delivery delays, etc.).

  • Obtains best price, terms and conditions from approved suppliers.

  • Expedites solution of any issues that arise in relation to delivery date, quality, quantity, and cost of purchased material.

  • Recommends cost savings improvements through changes of purchasing systems, sources, and quality.

  • Develops periodic supplier performance reports and distributes them to stakeholders.

  • Performs periodic inventory audits for assigned items.

  • Assists with the creation of materials specifications.

  • SCA Level II will be responsible for IHC Reagents and Antibodies and provide backup for consumables.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a science field.

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a supply chain and/or procurement capacity.

  • Experience with materials requirement planning and inventory control techniques.

  • Knowledge of general procurement processes.

  • Experience with computer operations, cost/price analysis and accounting/invoicing practices.

  • Proficient in Excel with relation to analytics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of business law, economics, negotiations and finance preferred.

  • Experience with value analysis, forecasting, cost/price analysis, all internal systems impacting purchasing, production processes (internal and at the supplier), accounting, markets impacting assigned products and short- and long-range planning.

  • Self-motivated with above average interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and with all management levels within the organization.

  • Works well in a team environment.

  • Excellent time management skills.

Physical Demands

  • Will work at a desk / computer as well as the occasional use of copiers, fax machines, and scanners.

  • Visual acuity and analytical skill to distinguish fine detail.

  • Must possess ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.

  • Must possess ability to perform repetitive motion.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Other

  • At times may be required to work weekends/holidays.
