Position Summary
Procurement Specialist II is responsible for optimizing the use of company assets in the acquisition of goods and services. This specialist will develop a basic knowledge supply of materials and formulate short and long-term strategies to ensure quality and continuity of supply while minimizing cost.
Job Responsibilities
Interfaces with Caris Life Sciences suppliers. Primary liaison between Caris Life Sciences and the supplier for communication of product requirements, timelines, sample requirements, inventory builds, and ongoing material requirements.
Purchase corporate requirements for assigned materials from approved and qualified suppliers in sufficient lead-time to prevent material shortages.
Maintain accurate supplier history and performance data.
Meet with suppliers’ sales representative to evaluate their services and products to seek out cost reductions, quality improvements, or new products.
Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with established Purchasing and Accounting policies, and standards of ethical conduct.
Communicates updates to both internal and external customers.
Secures settlements with suppliers on any issues that have caused company losses (poor quality, delivery delays, etc.).
Expedites solution of any issues that arise in relation to delivery date, quality, quantity, and cost of purchased material.
Obtains best price, terms, and conditions from approved suppliers.
Recommend cost savings improvements through changes of purchasing systems, sources, and quality.
Process Capital Acquisition documentation.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or Supply Chain professional certification
2 to 3 years of experience in a supply chain and/or procurement capacity
Knowledge of general procurement processes
Experience with computer operations, cost/price analysis and accounting/invoicing practices
Self-motivated with above average interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and with all management levels within the organization.
Works well in team environment.
Excellent time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or Supply Chain professional certification
1-2 years of work experience with negotiations, forecasting, cost/price analysis, all internal systems impacting purchasing, production processes (internal and at the supplier), accounting, markets impacting assigned products and short- and long-range planning.
Self-motivated with above average interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and with all management levels with the organization.
Works well in a team environment.

Physical Demands
Will work at a desk with a computer as well as the occasional use of copiers, fax machines, and scanners.
Visual acuity and analytical skills to distinguish fine detail.
Must possess ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
Must possess ability to perform repetitive motion.
Ability to lift to 25lbs.
Training
All job specific, safety, and compliance training are assigned based on the job functions associated with this employee.
Other
This position requires periodic travel and some evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
Willingness to work shift work and overtime is required. At times may be required to work weekends and/or holidays
Travel rarely required.
The job requires the employee to be on-site from 8am to 5pm in Phoenix, Arizona and does not offer the opportunity to work from home virtually.
