Job Description

To support our ongoing expansion across the Americas region, Checkout.com is now actively seeking a Senior Manager to lead our growing Treasury team in Brazil. The role will also support broader initiatives in the US and Canada, ensuring best practice and consistency across a cross-regional Americas Treasury team.

The ideal candidate will be highly strategic and will deploy an owner mentality. They'll be well-organized, adaptable to the changing demands of the role, and capable of independent and autonomous decision-making to drive Checkout.com’s ambitious goals for Brazil, and the wider business.

How you'll make an impact:

Amongst other duties, the incoming Treasury leader for Brazil will be responsible for:

• Inheriting end-to-end ownership of all aspects of the Treasury implementation for our Brazil launch, including our bank partnership strategy, our bank operational setup/integration and the development of our daily processes for reconciling and managing merchant settlements
• Playing a significant role in devising and completing our Brazil strategy with our local team, partnering closely with our Commercial, Legal, Product and Accounting teams
• Playing a key role interacting with local regulators for acquiring license applications and with schemes as we onboard bank partners and integrate with local clearing houses
• Acting as the contact and escalation point for Treasury for management and other regional partners
• Understanding and applying regulatory requirements across liquidity, capital management and safeguarding processes
• Managing and executing the daily reconciliation and processing of merchant payments on various regional banking platforms and working with Commercial stakeholders and leaders to troubleshoot merchant needs and issues
• Developing and documenting internal processes and procedures
• Collaborating closely with our external partners (e.g. Banks, Card Schemes, Regulators, etc.)
• Producing regulatory submissions and other ad-hoc reporting as required
• Assisting the Americas Regional Treasury team with daily processes and ongoing projects

Qualifications

What we're looking for:

• 8+ years of Treasury experience in an international set-up
• Proven domain expertise in the Financial Services/Payments sectors in Brazil with a strong understanding of payments products and flows, and of the related nuance of Treasury operations in this industry
• Prior experience collaborating and building relationships with local banking partners and regulators
• In-depth understanding of Treasury processes, including but not limited to, cash management, bank account management and Treasury operations with strong willingness to learn new products/processes
• Strong communicator with the ability to build cross-functional relationships and work collaboratively
• Ability to handle multiple tasks with tight delivery schedules and prioritize accordingly, communicating roadmaps and deliverables clearly and articulately
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability
• High level of technical proficiency with MS Excel
• Prior experience managing and motivating a diverse, impactful team
• Humility, low-ego and will be an ideal champion of our mission and values
