Purpose-built with performance and scalability in mind, our flexible cloud-based payments platform helps global enterprises launch new products and create experiences customers love. And it's not just what we build that makes us different. It's how.

We empower passionate problem-solvers to collaborate, innovate and do their best work. That’s why we’re on the Forbes Cloud 100 list and a Great Place to Work accredited company. And we’re just getting started. We’re building diverse and inclusive teams around the world — because that’s how we create even better experiences for our merchants and our partners. And we need your help. Join us to build the digital economy of tomorrow.

Job Description, a leading fintech company, seeks an Engineering Manager to join its Merchant Services pillar. This pillar, the largest engineering and product team at, is responsible for the complete customer journey, ensuring a seamless experience for merchants and customers throughout a payment's lifecycle.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to focus on one of two key areas:

  • Constructing world-class APIs: You'll lead the development of robust APIs for payment processing, orchestration, and outcome determination at CKO. We strive to offer the industry's most complete, easy-to-integrate, maintainable, and transparent APIs. This is as part of our Payment Routing and Pre-Processing teams.

  • Shaping the Customer Experience: You'll focus on two major objectives. First, you'll enhance the user experience for payees by reducing friction in their checkout flow, ultimately boosting conversion rates. Second, you'll deliver full-stack solutions that simplify integration, configuration, and compliance for our merchants across the Flow product suite.

Leadership mentality is crucial. You'll drive an entire product component and mentor a brilliant team of engineers. We're ideally looking for someone who is dedicated, upbeat, and truly believes in crafting clean, testable code.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Manage and support our multidisciplinary team of engineers working on proprietary algorithms as well as help them advance in their careers

  • Support the design, development, and delivery of new product features across our multi-stack ecosystem

  • Take ownership of the architecture, solutions and the delivery of projects

  • Uphold high standards for our uptime and latency requirements while not sacrificing the veracity of API responses

  • Participate in maintaining the team’s cohesion and healthiness

  • Handle our incident response and post-incident investigation processes; participate in on-call rotations

  • Make critical choices in planning for the long-term vision of our infrastructure and its quality while not overengineering

  • Maintain high-quality standards for code, infrastructure, and documentation

  • Support the creation and maintenance of user documentation

What we’re looking for

  • Passionate about leading technical teams, being a leader as well as a manager

  • Experience leading a multidisciplinary technical engineering team on technically and conceptually exciting problems

  • Proven experience in recruiting or building and developing a team

  • Experience in crafting and leading scalable, high-efficiency, or highly available systems

  • Solid understanding of SDLC principles and Architectural and Design patterns for Backend and/or Frontend components

  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Deployment using DevOps principles

  • Experience with cloud-based application development (we use AWS)

  • Enjoy learning new skills and using the best tools for the job

  • Experience with consumer-facing products and domains would be a bonus but is not a must
