Job Description

Checkout.com is actively seeking a driven and resourceful Cost of Sales Operations Manager with previous experience in the scheme pricing domain and the ability to work in a fast-growing and dynamic environment.

Working as part of our Cost of Sales Operations function, you will lead the team with the assessment of Card Schemes invoices and the reconciliation of scheme fees as well as translating key data into functional data reporting for the wider Finance team and management.

The ideal candidate will be a highly numerate, dedicated and highly organised individual, not shying away from complex and high-volume work but also able to see the "bigger picture". While possessing management experience, you must be a team player when it comes to getting the job done and assisting wherever you can.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead the assessment and mapping of invoices costs across Card Schemes and other acquiring channels.
  • Sign-off Card Schemes invoices for payment following review.
  • Build new reconciliation processes from scratch – including discovery, data requirements setting, report testing, consolidation – all to pre-set team standards.
  • Consistently improve existing reconciliation processes to scale, introducing new controls and minimising need for manual effort in routine tasks.
  • Review analyses and outputs from analysts in the team.
  • Develop team members and provide expertise in resolution of complex reconciliation challenges and identified deltas.
  • Interact with Card Schemes representatives on scheme fees research or inquiries.
  • Perform analyses to identify scheme fees optimisation opportunities for Checkout.com
  • Build reports to communicate key data and reconciliation findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Revenue Accounting to improve month-end reporting.
  • Work closely with the Scheme Fees and Interchange teams to review fees and provide recommendations.
  • Partner with the wider Finance department, Product and Engineering to streamline processes.
  • Support the line manager with ad-hoc tasks.

Qualifications

About You:

  • 5+ years of experience in reconciliations of Card Schemes Pricing in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Demonstrates a sound understanding of Card Schemes, Alternative Payment Methods and Payments Processing.
  • Strong people leader with a track record of leading a sizable team with varied skill set/experience.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines in an evolving environment with shifting priorities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and experience handling large, complex datasets.
  • Ability to establish end-to-end solutions to issues and work cross-functionally.
  • Ability to explain complex topics with clarity and tune communication based on audience and topics.
  • Ability to lead high complexity projects and automate manual tasks within the team or department.
  • Flexible, adaptable and willing to maintain knowledge and skills with an emphasis on continuous learning about new trends.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel required.
  • Experience with SQL server and BI tools is a plus.
  • Fluency in English with excellent communication skills at all levels.
