Job Description

Team Leader at Checkout.com

We're looking for a strong candidate with a passion for coaching and developing people to take on team leader responsibilities within the Disputes Resolution team. The team plays a vital part for effectively managing and assisting to resolve customer disputes, which helps to mitigate financial and reputational risk. This is a great opportunity to be part of the team and to drive both individual and collective success within the Disputes Resolution team.

What your responsibilities will be:

  • Provide robust leadership and mentorship to the Disputes Resolution team.
  • Set clear goals and expectations for team members, conducting regular performance evaluations.
  • Track and analyze team performance metrics, ensuring compliance with established standards.
  • Drive the team's performance and be accountable for achieving objectives.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly team performance reports.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement action plans to enhance team efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to ensure coordination in meeting service level agreements (SLAs) and productivity targets.
  • Proactively address operational challenges and requirements for new product launches and market expansions.
  • Partnering with colleagues in Commercial, Product and other teams within Operations.
  • Set a positive example for the team, embodying organizational values and operating principles, and promoting a culture of respect, compliance, integrity, and excellence

Qualifications

What you will need to be successful (skills and competencies)

  • Passion for leading and developing people, inspiring and motivating others.
  • Proven experience in coaching individuals/teams, providing guidance, feedback, and supporting professional development.
  • Ability to receive and provide open and honest feedback, holding oneself and the team accountable against the company’s and department’s values, targets, metrics and KPIs
  • Adapt quickly to changes, possess a curious mind, and maintain a high-performance mindset.
  • Deal effectively with conflict, creating space for professional disagreement and debate.
  • Proficient in structured hiring and performance management processes with integrity.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and adjust accordingly
  • Brilliant communication skills, internally and externally.
  • Domain experience, including a strong understanding of chargeback procedures, as well as knowledge of relevant regulations and policies related to dispute resolution.

Experience you will bring to the role

  • Excellent coaching skills that allows you to develop the team’s knowledge and skill sets within your domain of expertise.
  • Equipped with effective communication skills in order to interact with team members, clients, and key stakeholders. They should be able to articulate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • As a Team Leader, you come with experience in management a team’s performance by setting qualitative and quantitative targets and KPIs for the team to ensure they are constantly stretching their goals and targets.
  • Team Leader is expected to lead and drive projects independently or by partnering with Senior Analysts (where required) involving different internal and external stakeholders.
  • 2+ years of experience of managing people within a Risk Operations and/or Disputes Resolution setting.
  • Payment industry experience preferable
