Job Description
Checkout.com is seeking an experienced Risk Operations Team Leader to manage and develop our Scheme Reporting and Registration team. This pivotal role involves overseeing day-to-day operations, driving team performance and ensuring all merchant registration and compliance reporting adhere strictly to global payment scheme standards.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the team to achieve operational excellence through structured task management, ongoing performance reviews, and targeted training initiatives. You will cultivate a positive work environment that prioritizes efficiency, accuracy, and accountability, ensuring the team consistently meets and exceeds internal and external compliance requirements.
How you’ll make an impact
Lead, manage, and develop the Scheme Reporting and Registration team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Oversee and delegate daily operational tasks, ensuring accurate and timely merchant registrations and reporting.
Implement clear performance metrics and regularly assess team performance, providing feedback and coaching to drive continuous improvement.
Coordinate and prioritize workload effectively to meet business objectives, compliance deadlines, and internal targets.
Ensure the team maintains complete adherence to payment scheme regulations and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS).
Conduct regular quality checks and audits of merchant registrations and scheme reporting activities, promptly addressing any issues or discrepancies.
Act as an escalation point for complex queries, facilitating timely resolutions and maintaining stakeholder satisfaction.
Drive initiatives aimed at process improvement, operational scalability, and efficiency within the Scheme Reporting and Registration function.
Collaborate closely with other internal teams and external vendors to streamline and optimize compliance processes.
Stay updated on industry best practices, regulatory changes, and compliance requirements, ensuring the team’s ongoing alignment with these standards.
Qualifications
4-6 years of experience in team management, preferably in financial services.
Proven leadership capabilities, including experience managing and motivating teams to achieve high-performance standards.
Excellent organizational and task management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of clearly articulating team goals and performance expectations.
Demonstrated ability to drive performance through structured coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluation.
Sound knowledge of global payment schemes and PCI DSS compliance requirements is essential.
Bachelor’s degree holder or equivalent preferred.
Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
