Meet your team

You will be part of the Platform team and work with the engineers there to improve the productivity of the engineering team and the quality and reliability of our software. The Platform team owns all our infrastructure and enables our product teams to go fast without breaking (too many) things.

Engineering Manager: Alper Cugun

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain the core infrastructure used by all of Choco’s engineering teams

• Partner with engineering teams to ensure their products meet production standards

• Lead on designing new pieces of infrastructure and implementing them together with the product teams

• Debug production issues across services and levels of the stack

• Improve common operational challenges with tooling

• Plan for the growth of Choco's infrastructure

Given the scale of Choco’s mission and the speed at which we are shipping and growing, you will be making a significant impact on our user base very quickly. You will get the opportunity and space to learn many new things and you will be able to lead large and significant projects that impact our entire engineering organization and through them the entire company.

Our tech stack in the Cloud Platform Squad

We are always working to improve our tech stack to fit our engineering needs and are currently on a mix of EKS/Kubernetes, Helm, Nest.js, RDS/Postgres, MSK/Kafka, AWS AppSync GraphQL, CDK, Datadog, Github Actions and some DynamoDB, Lambdas and SNS/SQS.

What you will need to have an impact with us

• Experience as DevOps / SRE / CI/CD engineer, you have a good understanding of processes, best practices, tooling in the field.

• Experience working with AWS (Azure and Google Cloud a plus)

• Experience working with CDK or Terraform

• Experience in working with distributed systems

• Experience coding in Typescript or some other programming language

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

• Being a proactive learner and open mindedness

You will impress us even more if you have

• Experience operating one of the core data systems that we use: RDS/Postgres, Elastic Cloud, MSK/Kafka

• Experience in information security and DevSecOps

• Experience in cost analysis and optimization

• Experience in implementing observability and reliability guidelines

• Experience in leading on incident resolution and debugging complex problems

3. Small Tech challenge at home: now is the time to show us your skills via a task from the comfort of your home. Our tech challenge models a real life problem and it takes about a few hours to complete.

4. Review Tech Challenge and Technical Interview: one of our senior or lead engineers will have a technical deep dive with you. No coding, no whiteboard here. We want to map your engineering and DevOps fundamentals.

5. Culture & Collaboration interview: we will have a final chat with you about our culture and check what can be your non-technical contribution to Choco.
