Category-defining tech. Career-defining work.

Lots of tech companies disrupt. But, many fail when they try to scale. We're different. CockroachDB makes it easier for companies to build and scale apps. This is how and why we're helping some of the most innovative companies on the planet. We tackle problems head-on and focus on solutions that create lasting impact.

Because when our customers win, we all win.

The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Social Media Manager to own and evolve our brand presence across key organic social platforms—including LinkedIn, YouTube, Reddit, and X. This strategic role reports directly to Yanina Erman, Senior Director of Corporate Marketing, and is critical in amplifying the reach, voice, and influence of Cockroach Labs and its executive team. The ideal candidate will work in a hybrid capacity from the NYC office 3 days per week.

You’ll be charged with partnering cross functionally on crafting a thought leadership engine, building a robust vertical video program, and engaging technical and business audiences with content that educates, inspires, and activates. You’ll also partner across corporate marketing, content, comms, product marketing, and events to ensure our social strategy ladders up to GTM priorities and brand goals.

This is a unique opportunity to shape how a fast-scaling infrastructure company shows up across social—and to bring the story of resilience, distributed architecture, and cloud modernization to life in bold, human, and creative ways.

You Will

  • Own and elevate the company’s organic social strategy, with a primary focus on LinkedIn, YouTube, X (Twitter), and Reddit—growing awareness, engagement, and share of voice.
  • Build a strategic thought leadership and amplification plan for our CEO and executive team, working closely to source, write, and publish LinkedIn content that builds credibility and provokes conversation.
  • Design and launch recurring social-first video series—from “man on the street” industry perspectives to vertical-specific thought leadership (e.g., financial services, gaming)—with scalable formats for YouTube Shorts and LinkedIn.
  • Amplify key brand moments and earned media, including press coverage, analyst insights, and high-performing blog content, transforming them into scroll-stopping formats.
  • Support content from owned events, like RoachFest and industry conferences, by capturing social-ready footage, packaging key takeaways, and driving real-time conversation.
  • Activate and scale employee advocacy across LinkedIn through strategic campaigns, templates, Slack nudges, and culture-driven content.
  • Monitor performance, trends, and experiments—staying ahead of platform changes and adapting content strategies to increase resonance and reach.
  • Partner cross-functionally with product marketing, comms, content, brand, design, and sales to ensure alignment on campaigns, messaging, and goals.

The Expectations

  • By 30 days: You’ll immerse in our brand, product, and voice—and conduct a deep audit of our social ecosystem, analytics, and performance benchmarks.
  • By 60 days: You’ll be driving channel strategy and ideation for new video series and thought leadership programs—and collaborating across teams on content calendars and executive amplification.
  • By 90 days: You’ll launch your first integrated campaign (e.g., the State of Resilience Report) across LinkedIn and YouTube—and introduce a new data-informed social series optimized for engagement, shareability, and LLM discoverability.

You Have

  • 5–7+ years of experience in social media management, with strong B2B tech chops—ideally in enterprise software, cloud infrastructure, or developer platforms.
  • Demonstrated success leading social strategy, launching creative campaigns, and building brand affinity across LinkedIn, YouTube, and X.
  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, engaging, and compelling social content.
  • A strong grasp of video content, vertical video formats, and short-form storytelling on social platforms—plus hands-on experience with video ideation, production coordination, or UGC-style content.
  • A deep understanding of executive brand-building on LinkedIn—and experience drafting content or managing social presence for senior leaders.
  • A creative and collaborative mindset—ready to roll up your sleeves, experiment, and scale what works.
  • A passion for humanizing B2B brands and standing out in a crowded feed.
