We are seeking an experienced and strategic Manager of Cloud FinOps to assist in the financial operations of our growing cloud business. Reporting into the Director of Cloud FinOps, this role is crucial for managing our cloud P&L and will be instrumental in improving top line growth and driving margin as well as optimizing the investment strategies that support it. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud cost management, FP&A financial close processes, budgeting/forecasting, creating and optimizing KPI & financial dashboards, data automation and working with large, complex datasets.
HOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE
Monthly Close Processes
- Financial Reporting (BvA, forecasting, variance analysis)
- Accruals, reconciling invoices, vendor analysis, trend identification
- System management for costs & forecasting – sourced in NetSuite and Adaptive Planning
- Documenting best practices & SOPs for Cloud FinOps department
Financial Modeling & Analysis:
- Dashboard development – create and maintain financial dashboards with supporting KPIs
- Conduct scenario analysis and provide insights into the financial implications of various cloud operational decisions
- Ad hoc analysis
Cost Management:
- Develop and implement strategies for cloud cost optimization and financial management.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on cloud expenditures to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints and financial goals.
- Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to drive cost-saving initiatives and improve resource allocation. Including assisting Cloud Operations teams with resource tagging, governance policy, and reporting.
Product Portfolio Management:
- Providing reporting and gather inputs from stakeholders for ROI analysis and purchase decisions
- Partner with Product Management, FP&A, and Engineering to build business cases and ROI analyses for all new engineering investments and New Product Introductions.
- Conduct analysis on the existing portfolio to identify areas for improvement.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Present financial insights and recommendations to your management and key stakeholders.
- Partner with Data Analytics and IT teams to build dashboards and automate financial reporting to a state of self-service.
Compliance & Governance:
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements related to cloud spend and operations.
- Develop and enforce governance frameworks for cloud FinOps management o Assist in generation & management of SOPs for a newly created department
WE'D LOVE TO TALK TO YOU IF YOU HAVE MANY OF THE FOLLOWING
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in financial management, with a focus on cloud operations, SaaS, pricing strategies, and portfolio management.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Understanding of cloud computing, SaaS financial dynamics, and cloud pricing strategies.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing dashboards and reporting key insights, including identifying and highlighting significant trends and variances
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging stakeholders at all levels and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Proficiency in various financial & operational software (Excel, NetSuite, Adaptive Planning, Tableau, Salesforce, etc.)
- Experience with major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their financial management tools is highly desirable.

Actual salary depends upon many factors, including a candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience, location, and salary expectations, and therefore a starting salary at the low end, high end, or even above the stated range may be offered. This position may also be eligible for bonus compensation, commission (if in a sales function), and/or equity grants. Cohesity employees who are within a reasonable commute (e.g. within a forty-five (45) minute average travel time) work out of our core offices 2-3 days a week of their choosing.
