More about the team:

As a Developer Advocate for MLflow, you'll share your expertise in MLOps and LLMOps and be a conduit between the engineering teams and the external developer community of data engineers building their careers on technologies like Databricks and MLflow. You'll share your knowledge of best practices for operationalizing AI and machine learning by giving talks, hosting panels and meetups, blogging, writing books, developing courseware, answering forum questions, and meeting 1:1 with influential data engineers and data scientists in the Databricks community. You'll work closely with the community and MLflow product team.

This position will report to the Head of Developer Relations and work with other Developer Advocates and program managers. The Developer Relations team is passionate about data, empathetic to developers' needs, and strong believers in using our diverse skills to explain our products and use feedback from the community to improve the developer experience.

The impact you will have:

  • Share knowledge about machine learning and large language model operations, demonstrating MLflow's capabilities in streamlining ML/LLM lifecycles.
  • Generate awareness for MLflow by establishing it as a leading technical solution through regular speaking engagements at industry events.
  • Expand MLflow meetups and user groups to attract tens of thousands of participants, fostering a thriving community.
  • Foster enthusiasm for MLflow by leveraging creativity and innovation to create engaging experiences and content, welcoming novel perspectives and stimulating discussions.
  • Enable data engineers to build MLOps and LLMOps infrastructure with MLflow.
  • Create high-quality educational resources such as videos, sample notebooks, tutorials, and blog posts to facilitate the widespread adoption of new MLflow features.
  • Advocate for the needs and desires of the MLflow community within Databricks, ensuring their voices are heard and considered by other teams.
  • Provide robust support for users across platforms like Slack, StackOverflow, and online communities to stay attuned to their feedback and requirements.

What we look for:

  • 5+ years of experience as a software developer and subject matter knowledge of solving data engineering problems at all scales.
  • You have experience with Python and SQL, machine learning and deep learning frameworks such as scikit-learn and PyTorch, and open source and SaaS AI models.
  • You are a leader in the MLflow communities.
  • You have experience working with and contributing to open source communities.
  • You have experience managing, operationalizing, and engaging with developer communities, running user groups, or holding global meetups.
  • You are a solid communicator with experience writing about, teaching, and speaking about complex technical topics.
  • You have empathy and understanding of developer personas and can apply that to the design and development of good experiences in tutorials, notebooks, communities, and more.

Pay Range Transparency

Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
