The opportunity
dcbel is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Test System Architect to join our engineering team.
The successful candidate will design and build multi-disciplinary systems, translating stakeholder requirements into a system architecture blueprint.

Main responsibilities
- Design and build multi-disciplinary systems, translating stakeholder requirements into a system architecture blueprint.
- Develop systems that adapt to product changes and upgrades,
- Design systems and use equipment that is scalable and modular to accommodate production growth or changes without requiring a complete redesign or heavy lifting changes and upgrades, ensuring long-term usability of testing equipment.
- Expert in developing testing strategies, standards, methods, and tools to support product development and manufacturing.
- Work closely with the product development team to ensure compatibility of test equipment with incoming products and devices and product development, New Product Introduction, and tester development teams, during the different project stages.
- Make technological choices on testing processes, systems, and applications to be developed, finding cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or performance.
- Communicate assignments and monitor progress on the different phases of the project.
- Conduct performance testing, analysis, and verification based on design and functional specifications.
- Skills to document developed hardware and software effectively.
- Engage with internal and external customers and stakeholders, contributing to the acquisition of new assignments. Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers to source or customize testing solutions as needed.
- Ensure that test equipment incorporates advanced data analytics tools to monitor production quality implementing systems for real-time monitoring and immediate feedback on production anomalies.
- Guarantee that all test systems comply with industry safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level within the manufacturing industry, electrical engineering or relevant field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an architect or system design lead.
- Relevant technological experience in test strategy & tester equipment development for innovation and manufacturing.
- Knowledge of modern test equipment design methods and related tools
- Knowledge in documenting and managing projects using tools (Confluence, Jira) and processes.
- Knowledge in relevant modern and core technologies for testing equipment and software.
- Knowledge of certification processes for test equipment.
Bonus skills
- Knowledge or experience working with energy products is a plus.
- Bilingual English and French
