Our flagship product, the dcbel Home Energy Station, is a small wall mounted device that gives everyone ownership over their energy supply by using solar power to charge their EV and home, unlocking their EV’s battery for backup power (V2H), and optimizing the energy flow between their solar panels, EVs, backup battery and the grid.
The opportunity
dcbel is seeking a Purchasing Specialist that will work from our Montréal office and be responsible the procurement of parts, sub-assemblies and finished goods needed to to build and sell Home Energy Systems. In this role, you will ensure all parts needed to produce dcbel products can be sourced in the right quantity, on time and with favourable terms.
Main responsibilities
- Source vendors for electronic, custom metal, custom plastic, custom cables and off the shelf components.
- Negotiate price, payment and distribution terms.
- Source components both for manufacturing prototypes of new products and mass production of existing products.
- Reconcile in ERP PO and invoices.
- Propose alternative components to Engineering.
- Work with Engineering to define specification for components before sourcing them.
- Propose improvement to purchasing process.
Key requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in procurement, buying and sourcing
- University degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related will be considered an asset
- Strong knowledge and contact list of electronic manufacturers and distributors, custom metal and plastic suppliers.
- Knowledge in manufacturing process of electronic, metal and plastic components.
- Able to calculate landed cost of components.
- Experience with various ERP, PLM and BOM management systems
Bonus skills
- Bilingual English and French.
- Knowledge of Electronic parts markets
- Specialist markets covering molded plastic, metal, and cabling
