JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a motivated computational chemist to join our team in San Diego. This role is based on site at our San Diego headquarters. As part of a multi-disciplinary team you will be engaged in drug discovery projects, both applying structure-based drug design as well as integrating new AI technologies in the drug discovery process. This role forms part of a group of computational scientists at Iambic who will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive projects from target identification through preclinical development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leverage computational approaches in structure-based drug discovery, and our use of a wide range of computational tools for all aspects of preclinical drug discovery.
• Collaborate with medicinal chemists, biologists, machine learning scientists and other stakeholders on all aspects of preclinical drug discovery.
• Apply molecular dynamics to simulate protein flexibility to allow high-accuracy prediction of binding site, binding mode, and binding kinetics of small molecules to proteins.
• Investigate, explore and utilize state-of-the-art AI methods for molecular discovery.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ph.D. in chemistry or related field with 0-5 years industry experience in drug discovery.
• For candidates with industrial experience: Proven track record of small-molecule drug design with significant impact on drug discovery projects.
• Demonstrated ability to apply computational techniques to solve complex challenges in protein function and/or small-molecule drug discovery.
