JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer II/Senior Software Engineer to join our technology arm at Iambic Therapeutics. You will be a key player in applying advanced software engineering skills to build technologies that support our drug discovery efforts. Your key responsibilities include scalable deployment of machine-learning (ML) technologies, and creation, testing and maintenance of software systems. This role is based in the Iambic Bristol office in the UK.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Using backend web frameworks to build services
• Deployment of software to AWS and use of Kubernetes (in collaboration with our cloud engineers)
• Deployment of ML apps to GPUs
• Collaborate on the creation, testing and maintenance of software systems
• Code review for pull requests in adjoining areas
• Maintenance of and mentorship in software best practices, including version control, testing and documentation
• Collaboration with ML scientists and others in the company to understand requirements for deployed models
• Clear oral communication of work in meetings and company demos, at a level suited to the audience

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent experience for Software Engineer II
• Minimum of 10 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree or a PhD with 5 years’ experience; or equivalent experience for Senior Software Engineer
• Recent experience in software development in modern Python
• Familiarity with data tooling (for example Pandas, Arrow, S3, etc)
• Familiarity with ML lifecycles and tooling (for example Pytorch, Huggingface, vllm, Airflow, Prefect, Luigi, etc)
• Ability to work with scientific software, either through experience or advanced degrees in related disciplines
