About the role
Fonoa is currently experiencing rapid growth in terms of product adoption, market expansion, revenue growth, and headcount growth.
To enable growth, we are now looking to expand the functions that keep our business running. Thus, we are looking to add a Finance Manager to our established Finance department. This person should be seeking a broad and high-impact opportunity where they can grow the finance department and its functions, while also supporting internal and external stakeholders.
What you will be doing
Accounting Operations (60%)
Own end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for entities in the Group
Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting
Lead intercompany transactions and multi-currency accounting
Oversee bank and balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis
Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions in NetSuite
Maintain a chart of accounts, accounting policies, close calendar discipline and process documentation
Prepare consolidated financial statements and management reports
Team Leadership (20%)
Directly manage and develop Finance Associate(s)
Delegate and review workload to ensure efficient operations
Build scalable processes and controls as transaction volume and complexity grow
Train the team on accounting policies and system usage
Foster a culture of accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement
Compliance & Controls (15%)
Coordinate with external auditors during annual audit
Support statutory reporting requirements across jurisdictions
Ensure compliance with accounting standards (US GAAP/IFRS)
Implement and maintain internal controls over financial reporting
Liaise with external tax advisors on compliance matters
Strategic Partnership (5%)
Partner with FP&A/FBP on budgeting and forecasting
Work with the Revenue Manager to align billing operations and accounting, ensuring accurate revenue recognition and timely collections
Collaborate with People, Product, Legal, and IT to connect financial processes end-to-end and enable efficient procurement and spend control
Provide financial insights to support business decisions
Support special projects, including M&A integration and system implementations
Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency gains
Support the selection and procurement of finance tools and systems
What We're Looking For
Required:
5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in SaaS or technology
Strong understanding of IFRS
Experience managing the month-end close for multi-entity organisations
Proven ability to manage and develop junior team members
NetSuite or similar ERP experience
Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
Strong Excel skills and comfort with financial systems
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Preferred:
Big 4 accounting firm background
CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification (in progress or completed)
Experience with SaaS revenue recognition (ASC 606)
International accounting experience (multi-currency, intercompany)
Process improvement mindset with a track record of implementing efficiencies
Experience in high-growth, Series B/C stage companies
Experience in team management
