We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our People Operations Team in Austria. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Austrian tax and labor laws.
Location
Vienna (hybrid, 3 days in the office)
Your Role in Our Journey
- Introduce Tool infrastructure to handle payroll inhouse
- Process monthly payroll for employees, including salary calculations, deductions, and benefits
- Verify and input employee data, including new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status
- Setup the payroll process end-to-end
- Ensure compliance with Austrian tax regulations and social security laws
- Prepare and submit statutory reports to relevant authorities
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters promptly and professionally
- Conduct regular audits to maintain data integrity and accuracy
- Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to streamline payroll processes
- Stay updated on changes in Austrian payroll legislation and implement necessary adjustments
- Maintain detailed documentation of payroll procedures and processes
- Responsible for internal and external Audit
Your impact
- Proven experience in payroll processing in an Austrian context
- In-depth knowledge of Austrian tax and labor laws, including social security regulations
- Completed training in payroll accounting (preferably WIFI)
- Proficiency in payroll software systems (e.g., BMD, Loga, or SAP)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Fluency in German and English
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with HRIS systems
Preferred Skills
- Experience with international payroll processing
- Knowledge of collective agreements and their application in payroll
- Familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools
- The ideal candidate will combine technical payroll expertise with strong communication skills and a commitment to delivering accurate, timely payroll services in compliance with Austrian regulations.
