About the Role
The Senior Clinical Research Director leads cutting edge research that sets the standard for digital health evidence. You have the opportunity to work with and grow an amazing and accomplished research team.
Ideal Candidate
You have 15+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing experimental and observational studies. You have shared your research with a wide range of audiences and published several papers in peer-reviewed journals as first or senior author. Others have used your research to inform their strategies or decisions. You have experience with balancing research rigor with timeliness of results. You’re beloved by staff because of your attention to their projects, career development, and wellbeing.


  • Ensure that research supports Hinge’s broader vision and commercial, product, and clinical strategy
  • Design, implement, and manage a portfolio of projects that cover cost outcomes, clinical outcomes, and discovery research
  • Communicate about study results to internal (e.g., commercial, R&D) and external (e.g., prospective and existing clients, regulators) stakeholders via memos, presentations, publications
  • Manage team by providing project specific guidance and professional development support


  • Research and technical
  • You have extensive experience with conducting applied research using real world data or in real world settings.
  • You have acquired, managed, and used large, secondary datasets.
  • You’re knowledgeable about complex and messy medical and pharmacy claims data.
  • You’re skilled at survey development and administration.
  • You have experience reading and interpreting biological studies (e.g., cellular, genetic, neuroscience)
  • Healthcare trends: You have a deep knowledge of current trends in healthcare, payer policy, and digital health
  • Partnerships: You have a record of developing and cultivating relationships with research partners inside and outside the organization.
  • Commercial: You’ve translated research findings into commercial messages.
  • Contracts and regulatory
  • You have experience managing vendors/contractors including developing clear scopes of work and budgets
  • You have ensured compliance with regulatory requirements for research involving human subjects and FDA.


  • Clinical knowledge: You have experience in research related to musculoskeletal medicine and pain science.
  • Digital health: You have conducted research studies related to digital health in the past.
