Hinge Health Hybrid Model:
We believe that remote work and in-person work have their own advantages and disadvantages, and want to be able to leverage the best of both worlds. Some roles which require a greater degree of day-to-day collaboration will benefit from more in-person opportunities. Employees in Hybrid roles are expected to be in office 1 day/week (Wednesdays) in hub locations that have an office, and may be expanded to 2 days in 2024.
About the Role
Hinge Health software engineers work on small interdisciplinary teams focused on different parts of the user journey. Frontend engineers contribute to their team’s success by adding beautiful, useful features to Hinge Health applications. They design and implement end-to-end solutions for large-scale features, profile app performance to prevent feature bloat or battery drain, and help maintain a high bar with thoughtful and constructive code reviews.
We enjoy a continuous deployment DevOps culture, and take owner-operator pride in supporting our code in production with an on-call rotation. Rotations vary by team.
Our production systems rely on React Native, React, Node.js, TypeScript, Nestjs, GraphQL, Docker, Rails, Aptible, AWS, Postgres, Redis, Apollo, and Redux. Our workflow is trunk-based CI/CD, and our security/compliance posture is at the highest standards of healthcare, including HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2, and CCPA.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Architect and implement new functionality and user experiences in the Hinge Health mobile application.
- Engage with stakeholders to help author your team’s strategic roadmap and influence company strategy.
- Work with your manager, product and design, to plan, execute, and deliver on sprint, quarterly and project goals.
- To support your team’s continuous improvement, you’ll measure what matters most and lead blameless retros that convert insights into action.
- Serve as a subject matter expert to provide technical leadership and mentorship to your teammates, other teams and engineers.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Environment: At least 8+ years experience developing software in an agile team environment, with experience working with remote or distributed teams.
- Frontend mobile: Expertise with React Native and significant experience working across the tech stack, specifically Javascript, React, and React Native. Native iOS and Android is highly desirable.
- Delivery: Strong project management skills and a proven track record of taking these types of projects through all stages from inception to deployment.
- Problem Solving: Business intuition that informs right-sized solutions, thoughtful trade offs, and game-changing innovation.
- Communication: Strong technical and non-technical communication skills with the ability to articulate a vision to audiences of varying technical expertise and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Leadership: Track record of ownership for team-scale execution and technical excellence.
- Education:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical degree or equivalent experience.
