About the Role
We're seeking an exceptional Research Scientist to push the boundaries of commercial image-editing applications. You will be at the forefront of developing state-of-the-art generative AI models while working with a talented team of researchers and engineers.
This role is open to candidates located in France. It will be a hybrid setup, which requires you to come into the office when necessary. The office is based at Station F in Paris, the vibrant hub of the French startup ecosystem.
Our efficient and lean team at Station F thrives on innovation and collaboration. In a dynamic and creative environment, we fully focus on visual applications, integrating AI to maximize its impact. Core Responsibilities
Lead the development of cutting-edge generative models for commercial image-editing applications
Drive technical architecture decisions through systematic experimentation and rigorous analysis
Collaborate with the applied research team to transform innovative ideas into production-ready solutions
Keep actively track of the research literature and industry developments to help the team continuously develop SOTA algorithms

Publish research at top conferences and contribute to open-source projects
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in Machine Learning or M.Sc. with relevant industry experience
Proven track record developing SOTA models, particularly diffusion models for foundational or application
Demonstrated expertise in developing state-of-the-art generative models, particularly: Diffusion, VAE, GANs, Flow matching
Experience evaluating and benchmarking image generation models
Strong programming Python skills, including software engineering best practices to produce high-quality code

Experience with distributed training and large-scale systems with PyTorch
Preferred Qualifications
Expert knowledge of PyTorch, including FSDP training techniques, low-precision training, and model parallelism
Dataset curation expertise

Demonstrated impact in the image generation field with a potentially proven track record of achieving significant results with first-authored publications in major conferences and journals such as CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, ICLR, NeurIPS) of top journals (JMLR, IJCV, TPAMI)
