Lightspark is building open payments for the Internet—always-on payment solutions powered by Bitcoin, the only open, neutral network for moving value. With enterprise tools like Connect, UMA, and Spark, businesses can send and receive money instantly, securely, and at a fraction of the cost, anytime, anywhere. Lightspark is headquartered in Los Angeles, California, but serves the world.
At Lightspark, we are pioneering the future of payments by leveraging the Bitcoin network and diving deep into the capabilities of the Lightning Network. Our mission is to build a secure and robust payment infrastructure that bridges the gap between traditional finance and cryptocurrency. This role sits within Striga, a Lightspark company, based in Tallinn, Estonia. Together, we’re building Lightspark’s European payments platform — connecting fiat and crypto rails to enable faster, more efficient money movement across borders
We are seeking a senior fullstack engineer who thrives in entrepreneurial environments, enjoys writing and shipping code fast, and can help us build out a great culture of engineering excellence. As a member of our Lightspark Payments Europe team, your primary responsibilities will include designing, leading and building the user experience for our enterprise product, creating and automating our Connect SDKs, and developing new features for our APIs and websites.
What you will be doing
Designing, building, and maintaining the Lightspark/Striga core product experience for our customers, while also generating and upgrading our SDKs and APIs across multiple platforms and languages.
Building internal tooling in line with applicable regulations, integrating with central banks, payment systems and diving deep into the specificities of real time payments.
Coding in Typescript most of the time but also occasionally in Go, Python and Kotlin. You don’t need to know all of these to join, but we hope you’ll be excited to learn!
Working closely with UX design, other developers, and Product Management to build world class software
Working closely with DevOps to build automated testing and client continuous integration
Designing and building production services, websites, and applications
Creating a rich services layer to serve the next set of users and use cases - bringing cross border payments with low friction to mass adoption
Learning and growing in a highly collaborative environment
Integrating with partners to build new services for Lightspark’s customers
Building core infrastructure to support new features and functionality
What we are looking for
5+ years of full-stack engineering experience
Typescript and React experience is a plus
Python and Go experience is a plus
Experience driving initiatives forward with creativity and resourcefulness, inspiring others to excel through a proactive, innovative, and positive mindset
Ability and willingness to rapidly adapt to new technologies and programming languages, demonstrating perseverance and resilience in overcoming challenges
Ability to work independently to deliver high-quality results within tight timeframes through precision and focus
Desire to learn and grow in a highly collaborative environment
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent is a plus but not required. We appreciate and acknowledge that some of the best talent comes from non-traditional backgrounds.
Lightspark is on a mission to build an open payment protocol for the Internet at scale and therefore we’re committed to creating a more inclusive and diverse workplace to reflect the customers we serve.
