Lime is hiring an Employment Counsel, EMEA to join our Legal team! In this role, you will report into the Head of Global Employment Law.

Lime is at an exciting inflection point as we scale rapidly toward our next stage of growth. As we grow our category leadership, we are transitioning to a more structured, high-performing organization and need someone who thrives in this evolution. The ideal candidate has experience scaling teams, products, or processes in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and can balance execution with strategy. In this role, you will help design and implement systems that enable us to move quickly while maintaining quality and efficiency. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact as we build the foundation for long-term success.

This is a remote position with a requirement for candidates residing in the United Kingdom or France to maintain effective collaboration across teams.

This position requires the candidate to be a qualified solicitor in England & Wales with a current practising certificate.

What you’ll do:

  • Serve as the legal partner for HR and business leaders on all day-to-day employment law matters across the EMEA region, providing pragmatic and timely guidance.

  • Manage employment-related disputes, audits, inspections, and litigation, coordinating with external counsel as necessary.

  • Advise on complex employment issues, including employee relations, performance management, and general employment guidance.

  • Develop and implement scalable policies, processes, and strategies to reduce reliance on and manage the budget for outside counsel.

  • Draft, review, and localize employment contracts, handbooks, separation agreements, and other employment-related documents for various jurisdictions.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders on the design and implementation of new business initiatives, compensation and benefits programs, and internal reorganizations.

  • Monitor new legislation and regulatory changes across EMEA and proactively advise the business on potential impacts and necessary compliance steps.

About you:

  • 5+ years of employment law experience in EMEA jurisdiction, with in-house or top-tier firm experience.

  • Demonstrates extensive experience and deep practical knowledge of employment law across multiple EMEA jurisdictions, with experience managing complex cross-border issues.

  • Expertise in labor investigations and litigations.

  • Proven ability to work autonomously, manage a high-volume workload, and solve complex problems that require detailed analysis of varied elements.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to guide others on intricate issues.

  • Strong business acumen and a pragmatic, solutions-oriented mindset focused on achieving company goals.

  • Prior in-house experience at a high-growth, global technology company.

  • Fluent in English; proficiency in another relevant language (German, French, Italian, Spanish) is a strong plus.
