- 5+ years of experience in data or backend engineering.
- Strong knowledge of data services architecture, ML Ops, and ETL processes.
- Experience with cloud-based data infrastructure, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with Data Warehouse technologies such as Snowflake and Databricks.
- Experience working with NodeJS, Python, or any other equivalent language.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Bonus points:
- Experience working with Typescript
- Experience building infrastructure for Data Science
- Experience working with BI developers and analysts to drive business value.
- Experience administering and managing Databricks clusters
- Experience with streaming technologies such as Amazon Kinesis and Apache Kafka
- Experience working with serverless products such as AWS Lambda
A day in the life and how you’ll make an impact:
We’re seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Software Engineer or Senior Data Engineer for our Data Infrastructure team.
As the company is fast growing, the mission of the data infrastructure team is to ensure the company can manage data at scale efficiently and seamlessly through robust and reliable data infrastructure. As a senior engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining various data services to enable internal teams to process, store, orchestrate, and consume data effectively.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data and backend engineering and a track record of designing and implementing scalable data solutions. The Data Infrastructure Engineer will collaborate closely with software engineers, data scientists, data engineers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, design solutions and implement data-related features and functionalities.
You will:
- Design and build scalable, reliable, and secure data storage, processing, and access systems.
- Design and implement data pipelines, data warehousing, and data architecture to support our business needs.
- Design and implement CI/CD processes for the team’s services.
- Maintain and improve our machine learning platform used for training, releasing, serving, and monitoring models in production.
- Collaborate with other teams to integrate data and machine learning models into our products and services.
- Ensure that our data systems are compliant with the data governance requirements of our customers and industry best practices.
- Design and implement stream processing solutions to support company needs.

About the Engineering Department:
The Engineering department is the backbone of Melio. We provide consultation, support and designs for technical solutions—supporting our customers and the entire organization. We get involved from the early stage of a project, making the connection between customer needs, and our product design, and then translating these into solutions.
What’s our stack?
In Melio, we are all in with AWS Serverless. Meaning all our services are managed by AWS and our infrastructure is deployed using SAM CLI built over CloudFormation.
Serverless gives us the freedom to build, scale and deploy applications faster than ever. We combine the usage of relational and document DBS, write mainly in TypeScript and Python for consistency and ability to share resources.
