At Mercury, we’re taking fraud prevention extremely seriously. The Fraud teams conduct investigations, develop scalable procedures, and build proactive controls with cross-functional partners to prevent, detect, and report fraudulent activity. As the Senior Fraud Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading multiple teams and will work closely with Risk Strategy, Compliance, and Risk Product teams to deliver impactful projects to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Fraud function as a whole.

As part of the journey, we would expect you to:

  • Mentor, coach, and support managers and individual contributors dedicated to mitigating first and third party fraud
  • Hire, onboard, and lay the foundation for a new team responsible for investigating Mercury applications for potential fraud
  • Partner cross-functionally with Compliance, Legal, Product, Risk Strategy, and additional groups to enhance Mercury’s Fraud program and drive efficiency using data and technology
  • Increase resilience and scalability of Fraud operations using process automation and outsourcing when appropriate, and work with Product teams to build capabilities and tools
  • Suggest new monitoring and controls to address new risks created by new products or changes to existing offerings
  • Improve team efficiency and effectiveness by setting and tracking performance metrics
  • Help the team balance fraud mitigation with customer friction when making day-to-day decisions
  • Educate internal and external stakeholders on Fraud investigations at Mercury.

You should:

  • Have 6+ years of work experience in the Fraud space and 8+ years of work experience overall.
  • Experience building account-level (first party) and transaction-level (third party) fraud prevention programs
  • Have 4+ years of people management experience, preferably of Fraud investigators.
  • Have experience managing managers and/or building a new team.
  • Be a strong analytical thinker - you are metrics-driven and results-oriented.
  • Be an excellent collaborator and communicator - you can motivate your team, secure buy-in from leadership, and work effectively with all functions.
  • Be comfortable with decision-making in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Be an excellent collaborator and communicator - you can partner effectively with Engineering, Product, and Design teams to drive outcomes
  • Enjoy learning new systems and processes in a fast paced environment

The total rewards package at Mercury includes base salary, equity (stock options), and benefits.

Our salary and equity ranges are highly competitive within the SaaS and fintech industry and are updated regularly using the most reliable compensation survey data for our industry. New hire offers are made based on a candidate’s experience, expertise, geographic location, and internal pay equity relative to peers.

Our target new hire base salary ranges for this role are the following:

  • US employees in New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Seattle: $162,400 - 191,000
  • US employees outside of New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Seattle: $146,200 - 171,900
  • Canadian employees (any location): CAD 147,800 - 173,800
