Hybrid vs. Remote Approach:

We believe the magic of Miter comes from working side by side. We also believe in work flexibility. For roles that are listed as hybrid, our approach is—three days a week in the office—giving us the chance to connect, brainstorm, and build stronger relationships. If you live within a reasonable commute to either our New York City or San Francisco offices, we ask that you work in our hybrid approach.

Otherwise, for roles listed as remote or in other cities where we don't have an office location, there is no requirement to work in our hybrid approach. We do travel a few times a year for onboarding, company wide, and team specific offsites!

About the Team & How We Work:

You’ll lead a team of Sales Development Representatives who sit at the very front of Miter’s growth engine. As their manager, you’ll coach and develop each rep through thoughtful 1:1s, refine strategy, and partner closely with sales leadership to drive stronger, smarter outbound performance. With our new territory model rolling out, you’ll play a key role in helping the team navigate and excel within a geographic go-to-market approach—setting clear focus areas, experimenting with outreach strategies, and helping the team build deep familiarity with their markets.

You won’t just inherit a motion, you’ll help build the foundation of Miter’s sales development program as we scale. This role has a direct and visible impact on the company: the team you lead will influence our ability to reach and serve thousands of construction companies, helping them run payroll, stay compliant, and grow their businesses.

You’ll collaborate across the business—especially with Sales and Business Operations—to hit ambitious targets, test new ideas, and meaningfully shape how Miter grows. What You'll Do:

  • Lead, Coach, and Develop High-Performing Teams: Attract, hire, coach and motivate a team of Sales Development Representatives to ensure continuous professional growth and sustained high performance.

  • Drive Revenue and Quota Attainment: Be directly accountable for achieving and consistently exceeding team productivity goals as well as individual SDR attainment.

  • Ability to use data track and influence performance: Strategically utilize the CRM to monitor sales activity, conduct regular pipeline and call reviews to provide appropriate guidance needed to achieve targets.

  • Build and foster a strong culture: Ability to think creatively about ways to strengthen and build a culture that recognizes performance, drives accountability and promotes inclusion.

  • Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks and make recommendations to improve sales efficiency, productivity and overall execution.

What You'll Need:

  • 2+ years of quota-carrying experience as an individual contributor, with a proven, consistent track record exceeding goals

  • 1+ year of experience building and leading sales development teams with a proven track record of exceeding goals

  • Experience in successful, fast-paced, results-oriented GTM environments

  • History of consistently performing above quota in an outbound sales environment

  • A passion for building a team, with an intentional approach to team development

  • Proficiency in go-to-market tools (ie. Salesforce, Outreach, and ZoomInfo)

  • Ability to leverage data to drive decisions, create systems, and identify process improvements to improve efficiency

  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills, demonstrated through excellent communication and presentation skills
