Navan is looking for a Vice President, Strategic Finance, who will oversee FP&A and Investor Relations across the whole group. We are seeking a business savvy financial leader to provide critical financial and strategic advice to department leaders and teams across the business.

This role will report directly to the CFO and based out of our Palo Alto or San Francisco offices. Navan is a hybrid working environment with an in-office expectation of a minimum of three days a week.

What you’ll do:

• Manage and direct all aspects of some of the company’s core financial processes including long-range and annual operating plans, periodic forecast updates and ongoing financial and key operating metric performance reporting for monthly executive Business Reviews and quarterly Board Meetings.
• Develop and implement policies, processes, and systems to build the infrastructure necessary to support a high-growth and global organization
• Partner with CFO to develop and own driver-based strategic planning model to facilitate decision making for key company initiatives, striking the right balance between model accuracy, flexibility and comprehensiveness
• Conduct financial cost/benefit analyses to help evaluate and prioritize growth and other strategic initiatives and support timely decision making by the business.
• Develop department-level and business-wide KPI’s to be used for performance monitoring and goal setting.
• Oversee the timely production of monthly, and quarterly financial and KPI reports, including preparation of materials for the Board of Directors.
• Support investor relations and fund-raising initiatives through the preparation of investor/lender decks and other presentation materials.
• Ensure that all key FP&A systems, modules, and procedures are well documented, consistent with public company SOX requirements.
• Develop and update a technological road map for the department and drive increased use of automation and A.I.-driven, data science tools
• Manage the FP&A team in the above activities in Navan’s hybrid work environment. This includes designing and adapting the organizational structure of the department, managing priorities, motivating, training, and developing staff in addition to recruiting, training, and retaining top tier talent and making any necessary staffing changes to deliver excellence.

What we’re looking for:

• 15+ years of experience in finance or analytically intensive roles including serving as the corporate-level head of FP&A
• 5+ years experience leading high performance teams ideally within a fast-paced/start-up environment
• Excellent ability to establish effective working relationships with P&L managers across the Company.
• Skilled at persuading and influencing a broad spectrum of constituents at all levels, including executive management.
• Hands-on leadership style with strong people development skills, including the ability to motivate, recruit, develop and retain high potential people.
• Exceptional presentation and writing skills and the ability to convey a message that is understandable and relevant, linking business issues, financial results, and strategy.
• Prior experience in investment banking, strategic consulting and/or travel industry preferred
