As a Senior Engineer at Nomic you will work on the Atlas product to develop, deploy, and scale automated methods for analyzing and building with internet scale size unstructured datasets of text, images and embeddings. This role will center around:

• Ensuring the Atlas software architecture is scalable, well-written and maintainable.

• Building out new classes of embedding space interaction ability into Atlas.

• Engineering and optimizing Atlas algorithms to handle 100Ms of data points (text, images, embeddings)

  • We think Wikipedia is tiny: https://atlas.nomic.ai/map/wikipedia

• Working with platform engineering to facilitate Atlas needs for business users (e.g. implementing features in support of our enterprise clients)

Requirements

• Strong interest in building resilient, efficient and scalable distributed systems.

• Evidence of exceptional ability to learn quickly and bias towards building.

• Strong ability across the stack with specific deep knowledge in:

  • Python and FastAPI, NextJS.

• Cloud infrastructure experience on AWS

We will prioritize candidates with the above experience and who also are

• Knowledgeable in classical machine learning and deep learning.

  • Experience building, deploying and maintaining ML systems

• Experience in multi-cloud workflows
