This Role
As the Director of Finance at Norm Ai, you will play a critical role in building and leading the finance function of our rapidly growing company. As our first dedicated finance hire, you will lead financial planning, reporting, and analysis, ensuring that Norm Ai has a strong financial foundation to support its strategic goals. You will also own our accounts payable, receivable, and invoicing.
You will manage the full financial planning and forecasting process, and own the company’s P&L reporting and analysis. Additionally, you will monitor and implement systems to track key metrics such as burn rate, and unit economics, providing actionable insights to leadership to drive growth and operational efficiency. With your expertise, you will ensure the quality and accuracy of all financial data, ensure that our clients are being invoiced in a timely fashion, consult on revenue recognition, coordinate audits, and participate in fundraising efforts. You will be supported by an external accounting firm that currently maintains our records.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with leadership to create budgets, drive forecasts, and analyze financial data critical to scaling the business. You will also perform scenario planning and KPI tracking to inform strategic decisions. Your ability to execute quickly, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality work under pressure will be essential in this role.

Responsbilities
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Oversee financial planning and forecasting, including budgeting, quarterly forecasts, and long-term planning. Manage the full financial planning process for Norm Ai.
- Accounts Payable, Receivable, & Invoicing: Ensure timely and accurate invoicing of clients, and monitor contract milestones. Ensure that critical vendors are paid on time, and are invoicing Norm Ai correctly.
- Cash Flow Management: Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts, ensuring sufficient runway to support growth.
- Company Compensation: Own and track payment of sales commissions and other compensation obligations.
- Investor Support: Partner with leadership to prepare financial models and data for board and investor presentations.
- Metrics Management: Monitor and optimize key metrics.
- Scenario Planning: Perform sensitivity analyses and build scenario plans to assess risks and opportunities related to scaling.
- Data Integrity & Reporting: Take final responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data and reporting. Lead audit coordination for the organization.
- Strategic Insights: Prepare and deliver financial analyses and presentations that drive informed decision-making at the executive level. Participate in and motivate strategic discussions regarding pricing models.
- Execution & Prioritization: Execute quickly on ad hoc financial requests while managing competing priorities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with leadership and other teams to align financial planning with broader company objectives.
Skills & Experience - Core
- 7-10+ years of finance experience, with at least 4 years of experience managing a finance function at a SaaS company.
- Experience with full ownership of financial data, reporting, and audit coordination for a company or an operating division or significant program area within a larger company.
- Expertise in SaaS financial metrics and planning processes, including runway, burn rate, and unit economics.
- Experience with creating and innovating SaaS pricing models.
- Experience with sales and revenue forecasting.
- Advanced proficiency with financial software and tools.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills.

What Success Looks Like
30 Days
Develop a deep understanding of Norm Ai’s business model, current financial structure, and key metrics.
Review and assess existing financial data, processes, and tools.
Gain familiarity with runway, burn rate, and unit economics.
Begin managing the financial planning process for the company, aligning with leadership on priorities.
Assume ownership of all client invoicing and vendor payment relationships.
60 Days
Take full ownership of P&L analysis and begin driving forecasting cycles.
Develop and deliver a cash flow management plan to ensure effective runway management.
Assume ownership of Norm Ai’s financial model in collaboration with our accounting firm.
Present initial financial insights, including burn rate and unit economics, to leadership.
90 Days
Fully own all financial reporting, planning, and forecasting cycles.
Establish and implement scalable processes to improve the quality and efficiency of financial operations.
Present detailed unit economics analyses and provide recommendations for optimization.
Establish consistent reporting mechanisms for key metrics.
Partner with leadership to prepare for the next phase of strategic growth.
