The Challenge

OneTrust is looking for a Director, Renewals Management, to build and lead our customer renewals function. The Director will be a proven renewals leader with a demonstrated track record of success motivating and leading renewal teams in a high-growth environment. This role will optimize team performance through hands on coaching, mentoring, and performance management strategies. This is a team leadership role leading both managers and individual contributors in traditional renewal management.

This leader will partner with the sales, customer experience, strategy and operations, and marketing teams to ensure there is a clear Renewal strategy across all functions and to ensure operational and executional excellence. Your mission will be to deliver an exceptional customer experience at the time of renewal – while creatively solving complex customer challenges. You will be the second line leader of a team tasked with executing quarterly renewals goals through research, negotiation and management of subscription renewal quotes and contracts.

Your Mission

  • Lead a team of Renewals Managers and Associates who own a portfolio of client renewals end-to-end, identifying and helping mitigate roadblocks at an early stage, ensuring successful, on-time, execution of processes and contract execution.
  • Forecast and Deliver
  • Work closely with sales management to align on strategies, renewal forecasting, coverage plans, and account opportunities (i.e., opportunities and risks)
  • Drive performance metrics: Renewal Rate, Churn mitigation, upsell/cross-sell identification
  • Guide Renewal Managers and Associates on their professional development journey
  • Partner with colleagues in Sales and Customer Success to provide seamless support during renewals.
  • Identify and manage client stakeholders and build and maintain relationships with key individuals.
  • Review and understand contract terms and conditions, work closely with the finance and legal departments to ensure contracts are compliant, and manage contractual documentation.
  • Identify commercial opportunities to increase Customer’s utilization of the OneTrust platform and work with the sales team to take advantage of any opportunities.
  • Pro-actively collect, analyze, and share customer feedback with colleagues in the professional services, sales, and R&D teams.

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of renewals and/or related sales and customer success experience
  • Experience leading teams as a second line leader or higher
  • Experience within the Technology/SaaS industry preferred
  • Skilled in change management practices and driving organizational process improvements
  • Superior cross-functional collaborator with exceptional general management skills and the ability to build relationships within an organization
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and negotiating skills to quickly establish rapport and credibility at all levels within an organization
  • Demonstrated experience working with geographically dispersed teams
  • Possesses a strong management presence and leadership ability, with communication and interpersonal skills that inspire and motivate teams.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and quickly changing environments.
  • Experience managing a high-volume renewal portfolio and identifying opportunities to mitigate risk and expand revenue within the customer base
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM solutions is preferred
