As the Revenue & AR Accounting Manager you will report to the Accounting Lead. You’ll play a key role in the preparations of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, researching and accounting for complex transactions. This new opportunity will allow for you to own this process and partner with business leaders to support our growing company.
Core Responsibilities:
- Revenue accounting operations (order to cash)
- AR billing and cash application
- Ensuring timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting close
- Driving process improvements and system automation
- Application of technical accounting knowledge and concepts to solve business projects and collaboration with auditors and external technical advisors
- Partnering with cross functional team key business partners across finance, legal, business operations and others to drive new initiatives and special projects
- Preparing journal entries and account reconciliations for the financial statements
- Engaging with external auditors on matters related to revenue, order to cash, and accounts receivable
Desired Experience & Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in a fast paced environment
- Excellent accounting skills and strong knowledge of GAAP accounting and financial reporting
- Deep understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition principles and standards & experience applying revenue recognition principles
- Excellent Excel as well as analytical and complex spreadsheet skills
- Bias for action, ability to take accountability and ownership, be dedicated and resourceful and drive towards solutions with minimal direct supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Tremendous work ethic - willingness work hard and really commit when the task requires you to do so while balancing speed and efficiency
- Consummate team-player: willingness to do what’s best for the company and the team - humility, coachability, and collaboration in cross-functional team settings
Other Considerations:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- CPA license
- Previous financial reporting experience
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Netsuite)
- Experience working in a scaling startup
This role will be based in the Bay Area. The salary range for this role is $130,000-$175,000 USD.
