Redwood Materials was founded in 2017 to create a circular supply chain for electric vehicles and clean energy products, making them more sustainable and driving down the cost for batteries. We’re doing this by developing and deploying new technologies to increase the scope and scale of recycled and sustainable materials in the global battery supply chain.

Controls Technician

The Controls Technician’s primary responsibility is to implement and maintain the controls hardware, instrumentation, and electrical equipment at Redwood Materials.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Fabricate and perform upgrades and repairs to electrical control panels.
  • Field wire instrumentation and motor controls.
  • Perform and document maintenance calibrations, installations, fault diagnosis, repair of electronic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic instruments and systems.
  • Performs troubleshooting on all instrument systems and process control using P&ID and electrical schematics.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4+ years’ hands-on experience working in an automated manufacturing environment; fabricating and wiring control panels and troubleshooting control systems and instrumentation.
  • Ability to interpret and follow electrical schematics and competency around voltages up to 480V.
  • Troubleshooting, and a knowledge of electromechanical systems is a big plus!

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone

Working Conditions:

  • Environment, such as office or outdoors.
  • Exposures encountered, such as hazardous materials, loud noise, or extreme heat/cold.
  • Essential physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing.
  • Indicate if required to work weekends, nights, or be on-call as a regular part of the job.
  • Travel requirements.

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
