As the Senior Payroll/People Operations Specialist, you will...

What You’ll Be Working On

  • Lead the end-to-end payroll process for a multi-state biweekly payroll using Workday, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
  • Act as the primary contact for team member payroll inquiries
  • Oversee payroll reporting and payments, ensuring adherence to company policy, generally accepted accounting principles, and federal, state, and IRS regulations.
  • Administer new state tax setups within Workday and maintain updates for existing states
  • Serve as the subject matter expert to interpret federal and state regulatory requirements, resolving complex tax, withholding, garnishment, and wage/hour issues for payroll processing.
  • Oversee the annual W2 process, ensuring full compliance with government reporting requirements for payroll taxes, withholding, and employer contributions.
  • Provide support to other HR functions (L&D, Operations, Total Rewards) by leading team member queries on internal policies, learning and development projects, new hire onboarding, and Workday functionalities.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls and compliance, ensuring adherence to company SOPs
  • Oversee HRIS data integrity and lead audit data requests from various teams
  • Lead and contribute to ad hoc projects as required

What You Bring to OneStudyTeam

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources is preferred
  • Minimum of 5+ years experience processing multi-state payroll required
  • 2+ years of experience running payroll in Workday required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of payroll, employment laws, best practices, and procedures
  • Proven ability to prioritize effectively, manage time, and complete tasks/projects with high efficiency and accuracy
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels within the organization.
  • Strong capability to work under tight deadlines, particularly during quarter-end and year-end payroll activities.
