We're building safety-enhancing technology for aviation that will save lives. Automated aviation systems will enable a future where air transportation is safer, more convenient and fundamentally transformative to the way goods — and eventually people — move around the planet. We are a team of mission-driven engineers with experience across aerospace, robotics and self-driving cars working to make this future a reality.
As a Program Integration Engineer at Reliable Robotics, you will lead the planning and execution of complex, cross-functional engineering programs that drive our uncrewed aircraft systems to market. This is a highly technical role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, excels at cross-discipline coordination, and can distill technical detail into actionable program structure. You will be responsible for tactical execution, decision management, and program visibility across engineering, customers, certification stakeholders, and executive leadership. Success in this role means delivering the right system, at the right level of maturity, on time.
Responsibilities
- Drive integrated planning and tactical execution for cross-functional technical programs (avionics, software, hardware, systems, and test).
- Lead structured management of risks, trades, dependencies, and key technical decisions across teams.
- Develop and maintain concise, high-impact tracking tools: schedules, dashboards, risk registers, and trade logs.
- Facilitate clear, consistent communication with internal leadership and external stakeholders, including certification authorities and customers.
- Represent program status, risks, and upcoming decisions to executives and partner teams, ensuring expectations remain aligned at every level.
Basic Success Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Applied Physics, or related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience leading complex engineering programs in aerospace, autonomy, or robotics.
- Strong system-level thinking and the ability to quickly understand cross-discipline technical challenges.
- Demonstrated success driving clarity, focus, and execution across multi-functional engineering teams.
- Prior hands-on engineering experience in systems, software, electrical, or flight test roles.
Preferred Success Criteria
- Background in safety-critical domains and familiarity with FAA certification frameworks (e.g., DO-178C, ARP4754A).
- Experience managing externally visible programs with regulatory or customer deliverables.
- Strong presentation, synthesis, and storytelling skills with the ability to adjust depth for both engineers and executives.
- Bias toward structure, action, and accountability in complex, fast-moving environments.
Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time.
