About Rippling
Rippling gives businesses one place to run HR, IT, and Finance. It brings together all of the workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company, like payroll, expenses, benefits, and computers. For the first time ever, you can manage and automate every part of the employee lifecycle in a single system.
Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365—all within 90 seconds.
Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.2B from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.
About the role
As Rippling expands globally we are looking to hire an experienced, hands-on, payments partnerships leader that will be based out of our San Francisco or New York offices. The payments infrastructure this individual will work on supports Rippling's global products including Global Payroll and the Employee of Record (EOR) product. This role will drive long-term, strategic product decisions that impact the Rippling global business directly. The role will report directly to the SVP of Global and will focus on developing our global payments network through payment partner development and management, supporting product and engineering with core integrations, and coordinating with internal Rippling teams to ensure all technical, commercial, and operational targets are met. Expect significant exposure to Rippling’s leadership team across multiple functions including Product and Engineering, Risk and Compliance, Legal, Finance, Customer Experience and Operations. The individual hired into this role will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop new products, manage global payment flows, and optimize business lines all with a focus on partner development and management.
What you will do
  • Primarily responsible for initiating, implementing, and managing Rippling's payments partnerships with payment processors, currency exchange platforms, and local banks, with a focus on product integration, funds flow, and partner management.

  • Develop and execute a payment partnerships program that expands Rippling’s footprint in global markets, specifically for the Global payroll and Employee of Record (EOR) products, while managing against fast-paced product launch timelines and unblocking internal teams to achieve desired business objectives.

  • Develop and execute the long-term engagement strategy with payments partners in alignment with the Rippling product and geographic strategy; act as primary relationship manager for various global partners and own the project management for related workstreams.

  • Develop subject matter expertise on payments partnership capabilities including funds flow capabilities, risks and operational challenges with partners, and long-term product opportunities in the context of Rippling's product areas.

  • Drive cross-functional alignment across teams including Product, Engineering, Legal, Operations, Risk, Sales, Marketing, Finance and others to get things done - whether that be market expansion, process improvement or optimization to drive growth in our business.

  • Own key payment metrics for your markets and derive actionable insights into improving the experience for customers, improving operational performance, and ensuring cost efficiency and revenue maximization.

What you will need
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.  Advanced degree is a plus.

  • 8 to 10+ years of proven, relevant experience managing payment partners at a multinational corporation, corporate or investment bank, financial services firm, or similar experience at a fintech company (startup or later stage).

  • Prior industry experience in business development, partner management, or financial operations with financial institutions is a plus

  • Deep knowledge of domestic and international payment methods and value chain associated with the global payments industry

  • An ability to think creatively and thrive in a dynamic, but often ambiguous environment

  • Self-starter with excellent time management skills

  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated experience working with senior leadership

  • Organized, attentive to detail, and intellectually curious

If you don’t necessarily meet all of the requirements listed here, we still encourage you to apply because skills can be used in lots of different ways, your life experience is equally important sometimes.
