About Rippling

Rippling gives businesses one place to run HR, IT, and Finance. It brings together all of the workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company, like payroll, expenses, benefits, and computers. For the first time ever, you can manage and automate every part of the employee lifecycle in a single system.

Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365—all within 90 seconds.

Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.2B from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.

We prioritize candidate safety. Please be aware that all official communication will only be sent from @Rippling.com addresses.

About the Role

Design plays an essential role in this by ensuring the product is intuitive and easy to use. Our designers help free up smart people to work on hard problems for their organizations rather than spend it on the busy work that often comes with their job. We hold design to a higher standard than others in the industry and it’s an important differentiator for us. A good user experience is essential in building trust with our customers so they can feel confident that important aspects of their business run without fail for their employees.

As a designer at Rippling, you are responsible for creating these experiences. Our IT suite spans across multiple product areas, including Identity, Device Management, Compliance, Marketplace, and Integrations.

We are looking for a product designer who has a strong technical background, is comfortable navigating ambiguity, and eager to own design for an entire product area.

What You Will Do

  • Design new 0-1 products from scratch, improve and expand on existing products, and uncover greenfield business opportunities within your product portfolio.
  • Design large scale and highly complex experiences while making them intuitive and delightful to use.
  • Level up the design team by mentoring other designers, defining operational processes as we hyperscale, continue pushing the limits of possible, and generally leading by example through craft and behavior.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Customer Support, Marketing, Sales and other cross-functional partners to facilitate design-driven discussions, and help prioritize initiatives in planning and product channels.
  • Help create a long-term vision for your products, set a roadmap around that vision, and help define product requirements to execute on that roadmap.
  • Effectively manage your time, stakeholders and design process to meet aggressive team deadlines.
  • Partner with Engineering to ensure a high quality user experience and bug-free implementation.
  • Solicit feedback early and often from your peers, including other product designers on the team by participating in weekly design syncs and sharing out your work in the appropriate channels.
  • Help maintain our design system and look for opportunities to enhance or contribute to it.

What You Will Need

  • 5+ years of professional work experience in an individual contributor role on a Product Design team; 6+ years of professional work experience preferred.
  • B.A/B.S. in Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field/equivalent experience.
  • Experience owning the end-to-end design for a product, from roadmap planning to QA of your builds.
  • Experience leading and mentoring other designers from the individual contributor role.
  • An outstanding portfolio, showcasing high-quality product experiences shipped against tight deadlines.
