About the Role
We free smart people to work on hard problems. Rippling is at the forefront of revolutionizing the way people work, empowering them to tackle complex challenges without being bogged down by routine tasks. We believe that exceptional design is a strategic advantage — a critical element in earning trust and delivering seamless experiences that inspire confidence. As part of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to solve meaningful problems, create transformative user experiences, and do career-defining work that makes a lasting impact on our customers and their businesses.
We’re seeking a Staff Product Designer to drive the end-to-end design vision for our Data Cloud product. This is a critical role on a high-velocity team developing tooling that spans data ingestion, cataloging, transformation, and analytics. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and influence the design culture across the organization by driving high standards of quality and innovation. You will thrive in ambiguity, solve complex problems with clarity, and balance speed and quality in all aspects of your work.
What You'll Do
- Own the Vision: Drive the holistic design strategy and execution for the Data Cloud product, ensuring it meets the diverse needs of expert users like data engineers and scientists, as well as non-technical users like HR admins.
- Solve Complex Problems: Simplify intricate workflows, balancing depth for power users with accessibility for less technical audiences.
- Collaborate Closely: Partner with PMs, engineers, and stakeholders to shape the product direction, ensuring design is tightly integrated into the development process.
- Lead by Influence: Set a high bar for design quality and provide thought leadership across the organization, fostering a culture of design excellence.
- Deliver at Speed: Work in a fast-paced environment without compromising on quality. Iterate rapidly while maintaining a user-centered approach.
- Embrace Ambiguity: Define and navigate uncharted territory, turning loosely defined challenges into clear, actionable designs.
What You Bring
- Proven Expertise: A minimum years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end product design for complex, data-centric tools.
- User Focus: Deep empathy for technical users (data engineers, data scientists) and a passion for creating delightful experiences for non-technical stakeholders.
- Design Mastery: Exceptional skills in interaction design, visual design, and information architecture.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: A track record of building strong partnerships with PMs, engineers, and other designers.
- Leadership Through Impact: Experience leading by example, influencing teams, and advocating for design best practices within a fast-paced environment.
- Bias for Action: Ability to balance speed and quality, delivering high-impact work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Strategic Thinking: Comfort navigating ambiguity and crafting a clear design vision aligned with business goals.
