About the role

We are seeking an experienced APAC Tax Compliance Manager to manage tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions within the APAC region. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of corporate tax, indirect taxes (GST/VAT), transfer pricing, and tax reporting standards across APAC countries. This role will involve close collaboration with colleagues within Tax and various other corporate functions in addition to the management of external advisors in various jurisdictions to ensure full compliance with local and international tax regulations. The successful candidate will also play a pivotal role in building and maintaining the various processes and controls required to ensure Rippling is meeting its compliance and operational obligations as it continues to grow internationally.

What you will do

The role will focus on the following key activities:

  • Oversee corporate tax compliance (direct and indirect taxes) across APAC jurisdictions, ensuring timely and accurate tax filings, including the preparation and review of returns for income tax, GST/VAT, and other applicable levies, ensuring compliance with local tax laws.
  • Monitor and implement changes in tax laws, reporting requirements, and regulatory obligations across APAC countries.
  • Ensure accurate calculation, deduction, and remittance of withholding taxes on domestic and cross-border payments.
  • Maintain tax records, statutory filings, and supporting documentation for audits and compliance reviews.
  • Coordinate with external tax consultants, auditors, and advisors to ensure smooth tax compliance processes.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities (tax offices, government agencies) for tax filings, disputes, and queries.
  • Develop best in class compliance processes for the APAC entities.
  • Assist with the annual and interim US GAAP income tax provision as it relates to APAC entities.
  • Identify tax efficiencies and planning opportunities.

What you will need

  • CA, CPA, ACCA, or Master’s degree in Taxation, Accounting, or Finance
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals and to execute complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • Ability to collaborate, ensure accountability, and drive results in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment with a high level of integrity.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience at a public accounting firm and or/ tax department of a multinational public company.
  • Experience in direct and indirect tax compliance
