About The Role

We’re building a world-class Spend org in Bangalore and looking for a senior engineering leader to serve as our local site lead while directly owning the Accounting Integrations team. This is a rare 0 to 1 plus scale role: you’ll stand up the Bangalore hub, hire and coach managers and ICs, and ship the accounting integration platform that powers Rippling’s finance suite (corporate cards, reimbursements, travel, and accounting automation).

You’ll wear two hats:

  1. Site Lead (matrix): Be the senior presence for Spend in Bangalore—set a high bar, unblock teams, drive performance management, and ensure crisp product<>engineering execution across reimbursements, travel integrations, and accounting integrations.
  2. Direct Owner (line): Lead the Accounting Integrations team to build both the platform and the first wave of integrations (e.g., QuickBooks, Microsoft, and others). You’ll create repeatable pipelines, operational tooling, and the quality bar for how Rippling ships integrations.

What You'll Do

  • Build the Bangalore hub: Hire, level, and grow a 25+ person org; stand up rituals, on-call, quality bars, and velocity tracking.
  • Own Accounting Integrations end-to-end: Define the technical roadmap and delivery plan for an integrations platform that serves both Spend and Payroll; ship the next set of GA integrations.
  • Raise the execution bar: Diagnose churn early, clarify requirements, and drive PR/Design quality; get teams shipping the right thing, fast.
  • Manage managers + ICs: Mentor junior EMs; directly manage ICs initially and transition scope as leaders ramp.
  • Operational excellence: Build support and observability for integrations (routing, retries, idempotency, reconciliation, data quality, SLAs).
  • Partner deeply: Work with Product, Design, GTM, and Finance Ops to prioritize impact, measure outcomes, and iterate quickly.
  • Scale through platforms: Establish reusable contracts, SDKs, tooling, and CI/CD standards so new integrations land in weeks—not quarters.
  • Be the site leader: Set crisp goals, run calibration, address underperformance fast, and model hands-on, detail-oriented leadership.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in engineering leadership, including 2+ years managing managers or large multi-team groups
  • Proven 0 to 1 and scale experience: shipped platforms or integrations with high reliability and throughput
  • You like being technical. Strong technical depth in distributed systems, APIs/webhooks, and data modeling. Comfortable reviewing designs and PRs
  • Operational mindset: built systems with monitoring, alerting, rate limits, retries, reconciliation, and clear SLOs/SLAs
  • People leader: hires great talent, levels accurately, runs calibrations, manages performance with candor and speed
  • Product sense: You can turn ambiguous requirements into shipped outcomes while balancing speed with quality
  • Nice to have: prior work with accounting/ERP systems, travel content providers, or financial data flows
