About the role

The SEO + GEO opportunity and upside at Rippling is among the most impactful SEO roles across all of tech. Rippling has 30+ products (and growing), we have strong product market fit, strong domain authority, and our product touches complex regulatory laws that make for a very long tail of relevant search terms and keywords.

We’re looking for a curious, creative, and detail oriented SEO expert who has successfully built + scaled SEO to help us take our organic search game to the next level. You will help us sure up our fundamental SEO practices - from author pages and URL structures to general blog layout and overall metric prioritization. You will help us drive high value rankings starting at the bottom of the funnel, and you will help accelerate our evolution from traditional search optimization to a future where an increasing % of traffic and search happens with AI.

You will use current best practices + build your own roadmap of experiments to improve the impact of our SEO & GEO efforts. This role is equal parts builder, strategist, and innovator. You will collaborate closely with content, product marketing, engineering, and web development to bring your strategies to life, and you will obsess over the metrics of your work.

What you will do

  • Deep-dive our current website and SEO efforts - from the technical foundations to site structure and reporting to determine our biggest areas for opportunity
  • Obsess over creating winning content that ranks at the top of SERPs for our highest value keywords
  • Think beyond content quality to improve SEO rankings via site layout, internal linking, backlinks, product pages, and more
  • Determine which keywords and search terms we should prioritize ranking for in the first place with deep analysis and intuition about where the market is headed
  • Think outside of the box to build backlinks and improve reputation for Rippling’s products
  • Determine our go-forward content, editing, and tracking strategy - your opinions and efforts will inform the technology we use, and the people (and/or agencies) that drive our SEO + GEO success forward
  • Build strong points of view on how we can stay ahead of trends in AI search behavior, algorithmic shifts, and evolving SERP features to drive our GEO strategy
  • Evolve our strategy based on performance, persona insights, and new Rippling products. You will constantly ship new experiments, own the success metrics, track reporting, and closely monitor to results to help the team prioritize
  • Get into the details to build your own workflows, edit content, and execute a winning strategy
  • Collaborate across content, design, web, engineering, PMM and more

What you will need

  • At least 5 years of experience in SEO—ideally in-house in SaaS, with demonstrated direct impact driving revenue
  • Deep understanding of SEO best practices - you should be able to look at our site + existing structure, and tell us what changes to make
  • Strong technical SEO foundations - you should have experience building sites with strong technical SEO foundations and be able to catch potential pitfalls as Rippling continues to expand internationally and experiment across the site
  • Experience with SEO and CMS tools. You know your way around Ahrefs, Clearscope, Google Search Console, and other tools that work for you
  • Strong writing and editing skills. You can craft a crystal-clear and engaging story, and you have strong intuition on what makes for high quality SEO / GEO content
  • A strategic and experimental content mindset. You can make bets about what content to prioritize, update, and experiment with and rigorously track results.
  • Ability to prioritize based on data. You dive into data, talk to cross-functional stakeholders, and develop a clear and convincing POV. You prioritize your ideas by impact.
  • Impeccable project management. You land the plane. You’re a natural collaborator, clear communicator, and super organized.
  • Curiosity and familiarity with emerging AI platforms and their role in shaping discovery. You should have experience (and ideally a few wins) optimizing for AI search

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience driving optimization for AI-first search engines
  • Relationships with writers, link builders and other experts in SEO
  • Experience optimizing B2B SaaS keywords
  • You own websites on the side that rank well and drive revenue for you or clients/friends
  • Experience with SEO A/B testing
  • Experience successfully recovering a declining site
