About the role

We are seeking a Money Movement & Payment Risk Strategy Manager to lead the development and execution of credit risk strategies for our money movement and payment products. This pivotal role requires expertise in managing risks associated with pre-clearance of payment funds and overdraft features. You will work closely with various teams, including product, engineering, and compliance, to design and implement risk management solutions that enhance customer experience while safeguarding our financial integrity.

What you will do

  • Develop and implement credit risk strategies for money movement and payment products, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Design risk management frameworks to address and mitigate risks associated with pre-clearance of payment funds and overdraft services.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate credit risk management tools and systems into the payment processing infrastructure.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of credit risk strategies, identifying trends and emerging risks in money movement and payment products.
  • Develop automated decisioning tools for credit risk assessments to enhance efficiency and reduce potential financial losses.
  • Work with compliance and legal teams to ensure all credit risk policies meet regulatory standards and industry best practices.
  • Support business development initiatives by providing credit risk insights for new product launches and market expansion.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements in credit risk management.
  • Maintain a robust operational control environment to ensure compliance and minimize potential risks.

What you will need

  • 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in developing and executing credit risk strategies for payment and money movement products, including pre-clearance and overdraft features, with an in-depth understanding of money movement processes, payment systems, and associated risks.
  • Expertise in data analysis with strong analytical skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills with a track record of working effectively with product and engineering teams.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration, statistics, mathematics, or a related field.

Nice to have

  • Experience with SQL or Python is a plus.
  • MBA or master's degree preferred, especially in a relevant field such as data analytics, engineering, or statistics.
  • Prior experience with risk decisioning engines such as Datavisor.
  • Experience partnering with product or engineering teams to build new risk management decision engines and features.
