As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will be a master relationship-builder who always brings a positive and collaborative attitude to the table. You’ll sit side by side with our most strategic customer in their office and build and own robust, production-grade data pipelines used to power advanced ML models and neutral networks. This role will report to the Head of Customer Engineering, and is based in Sweden.

You will:

• Engineer robust, scaleable end-to-end data integrations that seamlessly synchronize customer data with Scale's Data Engine platform, and vice versa.
• Meet regularly with customer teams onsite (strong preference) and virtually, collaborating cross-functionally with all teams responsible for their data pipeline.
• Own, document, troubleshoot, and optimize the customer’s entire data pipeline, including complex data transformations and processing, from raw sensor capture to model ingestion.
• Push production code in multiple development environments, writing and debugging code directly in both our customer’s and Scale’s codebases.
• Be the voice of the customer by capturing, documenting, and championing new customer requirements and feature requests with Scale’s internal Operations and Engineering teams. You will not stop until these requirements come to fruition and you’re not afraid to build the tools yourself when needed.

Ideally you have:

• At least a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or another quantitative field (STEM) or equivalent strong engineering background.
• Excellent written and spoken English, suitable for effective communication with native English speakers and proficient in understanding and conveying complex technical concepts.
• Proven track record as an onsite/embedded customer-facing engineer or a similar role, with experience wearing multiple hats.
• Prior technical hands-on experience collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders in a post-sales capacity to achieve business objectives.
• Proficiency in developing with JavaScript/Typescript, Python, or other modern software languages.
• Strong project management skills combined with effective interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Intellectual curiosity, empathy, and the capability to operate at a high velocity.
